Our amazing young people and youth groups are really important to us at St Kea and we love the part young people play in our church family.
SKY (St KEa Youth) Youth group
A vibrant, fun and relational youth group for all year 7-10’s that meets during school term time at our All Hallows site every Friday night 7.00-9.00pm . Each week we enjoy high energy, messy and activity based games, social outings, combined youth group events as well as engaging discussions about Jesus and what it means to follow him
Meeting on a Sunday evening this is a group designed for those in their sixth form years. Small Group Bible Study with a chance to ask any questions and explore the realities of being Christian in today's world.
This is run in the home of church members by our team of experienced leaders.
As part of the 11:00 St Kea All Hallows Service this is a group for Year 7-10’s. They leave the main service after about 10-15 minutes and meet together to go deeper in God’s word. We challenge each other about what is going on in our lives. We chat about what it means to be a christian in our local community. And have time to pray, often in fun interactive ways.
Youth Weekend Away and Summer Camps
Every year our young people go away together for the Youth Weekend Away. This is a weekend in a local setting with amazing activities and great teaching. We welcome a guest speaker from near or far and include discussion groups on issues especially relevant for young people today.
In addition to the St Kea weekend away we attend SPREE which is a weekend camp in Exeter run by Urban Saints for 8-17 year olds - this is a highlight in the youth calendar. We also encourage our young people to attend one of a number of national Christian summer camps. Students and church members also help lead these. This year we have had young people attending Barnstable 2 (11-14) and Sparkford 2 (14-18) .
Sky Boys Small Group
For boys in year 10 and above - we meet every Tuesday during school term time from 6.30-8pm. Each week we we meet to ask ‘the tricky questions’ by opening up the bible and seeking God’s wisdom for our lives, we finish off by praying together. We also enjoy a time of games and laughter accompanied by great food - all this in a special venue we call the BBQ Hut.
