Good Friday events

We are looking forward to our all-age Good Friday service tomorrow morning. We will have band-led music, interaction for all ages, activities and reflection - as we consider all that Jesus has done for us on the cross. The cross sits at the centre of our faith - the place where we see God’s love, His glory, the source of our forgiveness and life. Come and join us from 10.15am (for 10.30) as we celebrate and reflect together.

We hope this will be a great start to Good Friday and will also be a good service to invite family and friends along to. Refreshments are served both before and after our gathering and there will also be a livestream.

Later in the day there will be a reflective service starting at 2pm in the church, using Isaiah 53, supplemented by Isaiah 53, to prompt us in responding to the cross.

After this we are greatly encouraged to see so many people taking part in our prayer event from 3pm. Still a few slots left, you can sign up here.

Easter Sunday Services

Our celebration of Jesus’ Resurrection starts at 8.30am at Old Kea with a traditional Book of Common Prayer Communion.

Then we will have an All Age celebration at St Kea (All Hallows). Arrive from 10.15am for a 10.30am start. During this service there will be an opportunity to receive Communion and also an egg hunt in the churchyard. Due to some of our AV team being away we won’t be able to offer a livestream for this service but it will otherwise run as normal.

Refreshments will be served both before and after the service. Our groups for children and young people resume on 23rd April.

Last chance to donate

Last week the St Kea Open the Book team gave Real Easter Eggs to all of the year 6 pupils at Kea School. These eggs contain a booklet explaining the Easter story. As before, we are asking St Kea Church family if they would like to donate towards this cost and we’d be very grateful for any donations on the link below.

APCM - Wednesday 26th April

Join us for the APCM at St Kea on Wednesday 26th April, 7pm for coffee and cake before the meeting starts at 7:30pm. A great chance to hear what’s being going on over the past year and to look ahead. N.B. This is in place of our St Kea Fellowship evening this month, which would have fallen on the 19th April. The next of these will be on the 17th May.

Thank you to our PCC (Parochial Church Council) and all those on the PCC who helped prepare these documents. As you read them, you will see many of things God has been doing through the different members of our church.

We are so grateful for our Trustees (PCC Members) and our Deanery Synod Reps. At our APCM we will be holding our elections for the PCC and Deanery Synod. Do pray for those who are thinking about standing. Nomination forms are also available on the same page of the website.

Ben Stone in Malawi

As many of you will be aware, one of the longest-lived storms ever recorded in the Southern Hemisphere has caused widespread devastation in Malawi, Madagascar and Mozambique. Ben Stone is currently in Southern Malawi on a gap year project and has been involved in relief efforts providing food and shelter. He has been fundraising for this. Andy Boorne Commissioning - 30th April

The Rural Dean (and our oversight minister) Rev’d Marc Baker and Kenwyn Church invites you to a service of Prayer and Praise for the Commissioning of Andy Boorne as their Local Minister on the 30th April at 11am at Kenwyn Church. The service will be non-Eucharistic and be followed by a time of fellowship with refreshments and pasties.

Weekly Prayer Points

1. This week we are celebrating the heart of our faith as we think about the cross and resurrection of Jesus. We hope you get to spend a little time, in-between everything that might be going on in life, giving thanks for this glorious salvation. Take time on your own, together with others and with your church family, to marvel again at all Jesus has done for us.

2. Give thanks for the opportunities we have to tell others about the life Jesus offers this Easter. Continue to pray for friends or family who might join us for our Easter services across Trinity. Please pray also for the Family Fun Day at Trelander Community Centre on Saturday.

3. Please pray for the term ahead at Christ Church. As Easter soon gives way to the summer term, pray for our new series on ‘Kingship’ and also our series walking together through the early chapters in the book of Acts. Pray also for the growth of our church family. Pray for our Children’s and Youth activities. Pray also for our small groups.
