This Week - Stand Firm

This Sunday at ChristChurch, we come to the final part of our journey through 1 Peter. Throughout this letter, we have been reminded that as followers of Jesus, we are exiles in this world—called to live differently, stand firm in faith and entrust ourselves to God, even in suffering.

As Peter brings his letter to a close (1 Peter 5:8-14), he gives us a final call to be alert. The Christian life is not without opposition, and we are urged to stand firm, knowing that we are not alone in the struggles we face. In the midst of the trials of this life, we are a people of real hope. After we have suffered “for a little while,” God Himself will restore, strengthen and establish us.

How can we remain steadfast in a world that often feels against us? What have we learned from 1 Peter about living as God’s people on the margins? Join us this Sunday as we draw together the key themes of this letter and reflect on what it means to stand firm in the true grace of God.

Refreshments will be served both before and after our gathering. Children’s groups will meet for all ages.

Prayer Evening - This Thursday

This week instead of meeting in our small groups we will be meeting together for our Church Prayer Evening on Thursday (20th March). Come along to Alan and Jean’s home from 7.30pm for refreshments. We’d love to see you there as we pray for the work in our church and for our place in Truro.

This month in our series Heart Matters we will be looking at Heaven and Eternity.

New Home in River Street

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Sunday for our launch in our new home at 10 River Street, TR1 2SQ. It was great to have such positive feedback from so many people and we are so grateful to everyone for being patient as we work through the small teething issues that come from being in a new space. Work has continued this week and will continue for the next few weeks. If you would like to help out and get involved do just let us know.

There are plenty of transport options to get you to our new home for 9:30am this Sunday. Last week we discovered that parking seems to be less of an issue than anticipated. For more information about parking and transport, visit our ChristChurch website and click on the map on the front page.

If you have any questions or want help in any way with the move do contact Marc, Debs or Erica. We are here to help the whole church family as we step into our new future. Do also pray for one another as we as we continue to get used to meeting in a new space.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join in praying for:

1. Help us to remain steadfast in our faith this week Lord. Give us the strength to stand firm in Your promises, no matter what challenges we face. May we always trust in You, knowing that You are our rock and our refuge.

2. Thank you for the work of Compassion and for the opportunity for our Sunday club to sponsor a child through them. We pray for Mercy and her family and ask for God’s provision and protection over them. We thank you for the provision of education for Mercy and pray she will thrive in the classroom and work hard in her classes. We also pray for for good physical and emotion health for Mercy.

3. Andy Boorne writes, Kenwyn congregation want to say thank you for the people across Trinity who have been praying for us. If you are one of those praying please thank God for answer to prayers for the folk in our congregation. Also, for our Lent course and those doing daily devotions through Lent, especially with Matt Searle's book In Quietness & Trust. Please pray for ongoing connections with new people trying out the church and possible new contacts within the local communities. Please also pray for the children's work, and the growing work in schools and nursing homes. Pray that God will move by His spirit in each person's heart to draw them closer to Himself in truth and love. God bless from Kenwyn.
