Flipped Kingdom

This Sunday we continue in the summer series called ‘The Flipped Kingdom’ looking at Jesus’ radical teaching. This week we’ll hear that greatness in His kingdom is different to the world around us.

Services will be all age and have interactive activities for everyone to enjoy. There will be refreshments served both at the beginning and end of the service as well as Prayer ministry.

There will be no livesteam over the Summer, but it will resume on the 3rd September.

Save the date - 3rd September

As our new academic year gets underway we will be having a launch day. At the service in the morning we will be sharing our verse for the year and launching a new series, then everyone is invited to join in with lunch, activities and fellowship at the vicarage in Kea from 12pm, followed by an evening of praise and worship from 7.30pm. Gardening at the Vicarage - This Saturday

This Saturday ahead of ‘Vision Sunday’ on the 3rd September we would love some volunteers to come and help get the vicarage garden ready, cutting back brambles and pulling out nettles.

Please bring along gardening gloves, pruning equipment etc if you have them and sturdy shoes are recommended.

This Sunday

Everyone is welcome to join us this Sunday at beautiful Old Kea for the August Summer service starting at 3.30pm. The service will hopefully be outside (weather permitting) so if you have a chair please bring this along with you, but there are benches around the grounds if not.

Host needed urgently

In order to have our SWYM placement student supporting our ministry with young people in the coming year, we need to find somewhere for her to live. We’d be really grateful for anyone who might consider this, either for the full stretch of September to June or for part of this time. Expenses for food and bills will be covered. Please contact the office to register interest and find out more details. Please also join us in praying for the right solution.

Dockyard Summer Fete

The Dockyard Collective are helping to run a Summer Fun Day on the Trelander Estate on Saturday 26th August (11am-2pm) and would love for you to join them. They will be running a variety of stalls and activities for families to enjoy as we continue to build relationships and serve the community. Autumn gathering of the TDEF

After the celebratory launch of the Diocese Evangelical Fellowship (DEF) back in February the committee have announced the next meeting which will take place on Saturday 30th September. There will be a panel of speakers chosen to inspire us including the include the Rev’d Rob Fowler and our very own Natalie Gavan. Christians from across churches in the Diocese of Truro are invited to join, whether lay or ordained.

Small Groups and Ephesians evening

Please do join us for the launch our new study for the year called ‘Enable’ on the evening of Thursday 7th September. This will complement our new sermon series which starts with some weeks looking at Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. To give an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the letter Iain Brunt is hosting an evening at Old Kea on the 14th September where we will listen to Ephesians from start to finish a couple of times and have a chance to reflect together on the book as a whole. The previous event like this, in the book of Acts, was a lovely relaxed evening of fellowship and sharing food.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. This week we pray for all the young people who receive their A Level exam results on Thursday. We ask for your blessing on them as they navigate their next step knowing that you are there for them always.

2. We thank God for the work of Truro Foodbank and the way they serve the community. Lord, please help those who are anxious about how they will afford to put food on the table and pay their bills: We pray for provision, comfort and hope.

3. We praise God for St Clements Church and Rev’d Di Willoughby who leads the congregation.
