Mothering Sunday - All Age service this week

For Mothering Sunday we continue our All Age series for the year ‘Baking Through the Bible’. As we return to the Book of Romans we’ll be thinking about how Motherhood is used as an example for all of us to wait with hope for the future, even in difficult and painful circumstances.  

It will be a great service to invite family, friends, colleagues and neighbours to.

Refreshments are served both before and after our gathering. A livestream will be broadcast and prayer ministry will be available after the service.

NB: Electoral forms will be available to fill in at the service this Sunday. Please fill one in if you haven’t already and place in the welcome box at the back. This week will be the last day to hand them in.

This Week - Small Group

This week we conclude our time in 1 Peter. Each week, God’s word has been helping us explore what it looks like to live as God’s people. We have been reminded how we should go about ‘engaging’ with the world around us. We have been challenged to live distinct and different lives: leaving behind our former way of life and living ‘good lives’ (2:11-12) that surprise the world around us (4:3-4). Peter has also shown us again and again that living distinctive lives in this way will, in many situations, arouse opposition. The Christians Peter wrote to were accused of doing wrong (2:12), they were suffering for doing good (2:22) and people were speaking maliciously about the way they lived (3:16).

When opposition comes, possibly it will come to the leaders in the church first. Certainly how the church treat one another in such a moment will be critical. So (1) Peter addresses leaders directly, (2) then turns to the church as a whole. Finally, in the closing verses, (3) Peter issues his closing encouragements. This week we are going to look at each of these three sections in turn and ask two simple questions that open up the passage and apply it to our situation in Cornwall.

Rooted - Youth Event

On Sunday evening we welcomed more than 40 young people from churches across Cornwall to our first Rooted event! The evening involved fun, food and music alongside teaching from Colossians about how we are to be rooted and built up in Jesus. Many of the youth leaders who came from as far as Bodmin and St Ives have reported back of how much the young people enjoyed their time together – and so we are already planning the next Rooted event in May! We would love to thank the wonderful team of musicians, caterers and pray-ers who supported this evening – we are so grateful to the Lord for His work among us. 

Easter 2025

Join us for our All Age morning services this Easter, and for reflective afternoon and evening events. It all begins on Sunday 13th April for our Palm Sunday service.

On Thursday 17th April join us for a Moundy Thursday meal and sung worship, with an opportunity to share the Lord’s Supper together.

Old Kea Church will also be opening its doors again after renovation work for an Easter Sunday morning service (see below)

Easter Choir

Chris and Annabelle South are putting together a choir to help lead the worship on Easter Sunday (20th April). 

Rehearsals will start in church on Thurs 27th March at 7pm in the Church Hall - if you enjoy singing and would like to take part, please come along. No experience is needed and you do not need to be able to read music to be able to take part. 

Other rehearsal dates: Fri 4th Apr and Thurs 10th Apr. You're welcome even if you cannot make all the rehearsals.

Concert and Trinity Church Away Day

On Friday 9th May, the singing group, Amici Voci will perform at St Kea to raise vital funds for our mission partners Mercy Rescue Trust in Kitale. Please do make a note of the date and come to hear more about the charity and to help raise money.

Don’t forget to sign up for Trinity Away day on Saturday 10th May. It will be an exciting day of teaching, great worship and fun activities for all. We are going to be joined by Tim Ling who leads an exciting ministry in Padstow and will be our guest speaker for the morning. There will also be groups for children and youth.

The day will be held at The Stithian’s Centre in Stithians and will run from 9.30am- 3.30pm with a pasty lunch. In the afternoon there will be different activities to choose from which will cater for all needs. The centre is fully accessible, but do get in touch with the office if you have any questions about this.

There is still time to get your early bird ticket so do click on the picture above to book your place and your pasty - Early bird tickets for £6.50 an adult and £4.50 a child until the 3rd April (after this ticket prices will be £8.50 per adult and £5.50 per child)

Youth Minister

Trinity Church are seeking a dedicated full-time Youth Minister to play a vital role in leading our growing ministry among young people in beautiful Cornwall.

As a church, we have a vision to see God transform lives in Truro through the proclamation of God’s word. The Youth Minister role provides an exciting opportunity to disciple young people, and to train and equip youth leaders across our Trinity ministry areas. Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join in praying for:

1. We thank You Gracious God for the gift of mothers and caregivers—those who nurture, guide, and love with patience and wisdom. Bless all the women who care for us, whether through motherhood or other acts of kindness. May they feel Your peace in their hearts and experience Your strength each day.

2. We ask for your strength and protection for your church across the world, for church leaders and members reaching out to transform their communities, and for Tearfund’s staff and partners working to help churches become centres of transformation. We pray that you would watch over them and put your protection around them.

3. We praise and thank You for the Rooted Event where many young people were able to hear Your word and be together in Christ. We pray for our leaders as they meet and plan for the youth groups next term. We pray particularly for families and youth during the upcoming exam period.
