This Sunday - New Series

We launch off our new series this week - The Global Gospel. There have never been more Christians in the world than there are today. These Christians live all across the countries of the world, from east to west. This amazing gospel growth is the work of the Lord Jesus as He has built His church in the power of His Spirit and it all started in one room in Jerusalem, on the day of Pentecost.

So, join us this Sunday as we begin to think about this wonderful gospel advance. We will learn about what Jesus is doing in these last days, we will marvel at God’s goodness and see what it is to be the church of Jesus today. This week our adventure begins!

Refreshments are served both before and after the service and prayer is always available after the service; do ask other church members or speak to the service leader. Sunday Club meets as usual to continue their sessions in Exodus.

EQUIP Continues This Week

Our EQUIP groups meet again this week as we continue with the next session in our series thinking about God’s word. Last week, we thought about how we understand God’s word for ourselves. This week, we are going to think about the sufficiency of God’s word. Is God’s word all we need or do we need more?

Christ Church Baptism This Term

It is the most wonderful thing in all the world when someone comes and places their trust in Jesus and decides to follow Him. The next most natural thing is for them to be baptised. Baptism symbolises that they are now living a new life following Jesus and they are now part of Jesus’ family.

We hope to be holding a baptism service later this summer term. If you, or someone in your family, have committed to following Jesus recently and would like to be baptised then do talk with Marc, our church leader. This is for everyone, including any children and teenagers who have recently decided to follow Jesus as well as for adults.

Sunday 28th May - 10.30am - St Kea and Christ Church altogether service to celebrate Pentecost. Please note there will not be a service at Archbishop Benson School that day, we will be meeting at St Kea Church.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. This week we give thanks for all those who teach our children and young people at Christ Church. We soon want to start a new group for Year 6 plus. Give thanks for those who have come forward to lead this. Pray for our preparations.

2. We also give thanks for St Allen Church, one of the churches in our Trinity Benefice. St Allen is a small church near Zelah, just outside Truro. Pray for the church warden (David Hare) who is leading the church and continue to pray for the appointment of a Local Minister for that congregation. Give thanks for their recent outreach over the Coronation Weekend.

3. Please pray for the work of the Barnabus Fund. Pray for the safety of all the minority religious communities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan and ask that our Christian brothers and sisters will know the Lord’s peace in their hearts. Ask that their faith will inspire them to pure and blameless conduct and to shine brilliantly as examples among the majority community (Philippians 2:15).
