This Sunday

We continue our exciting series in Acts, considering what our priorities should be in the ‘last days’ between Jesus’ ascension and return. We will also be celebrating the Lord’s Supper, a particularly significant form of ‘breaking bread’ together. We will continue to be challenged by the boldness of the apostles and encouraged by the power of the Holy Spirit saving people as the gospel is preached.

Our usual groups for children and young people will run. Refreshments will be served before and after the service and a livestream will be broadcast.

St Kea Fellowship evening - Tonight

Please do come and join us at our fellowship evening tonight at St Kea (All Hallows). In our current series in Acts we have read about the early church ‘devoted’ to ‘the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer’. Come and join us as we seek to embody each of those things. We start at 7pm for refreshments and and informal time of fellowship before kicking off at 7.30pm with singing and prayer. There will also be some updates for us to feed into our prayers.

Accommodation needed for a potential SWYM intern

St Kea has been a placement church for several South West Youth Ministry interns over the years. This has been a great blessing to our church family, and also to the interns themselves, as they sacrificially set aside time to train for youth ministry.

After no placement opportunities with us being available last year we are delighted to have a better chance of having an intern placed with us this year. The next stage in the process is to try and find a potential host for all (or part) of the year from September to July. If you have a spare room or annexe and might be able to help then please do get in touch for further details/to explore the possibility. No commitment is required at this stage.

Kea Community Fete - Thank you

A huge thank you to all who helped and donated things for the community fete. 

The Fete’s total amount raised was an amazing £3893.72.

Kea Church receives £974 which we are sending to our mission partner Mercy Rescue Trust. The Kea School friends team were especially thankful for all the help and support from the church and really value our input.

Booking open!

We're really excited to say that we have a provisional booking for Heatree Activity Centre on beautiful Dartmoor for a secondary age youth weekend away. For us to secure our booking please sign up below, paying a deposit of £5. It would be really useful for our planning to get an idea of numbers as soon as possible. The price of the weekend will be just £48, subsidised by a bursary. This includes accommodation, transport, food, a half day of onsite adventure activity with instructors and all the other fun we have planned. Amidst all the fun we'll also have an opportunity to look at the Bible together and think about following Jesus.

Slip and Slide

Many of you will have seen the advertising for the Slip and Slide on the Killiow Estate, and maybe even a glimpse of the equipment as they set it up ahead of opening on the 1st July. We are co-ordinating a trip on Sunday 9th July (after the baptism service in the morning) but booking is direct with the company. Please note that this is a time slot open to the public and all children of any age need to be accompanied by an adult. The plan is to have a bring and share lunch for those staying after the baptism service and planning to join in with this.

Consultation of stakeholders

We are thankful for those who came early on the 10th June to our first Trinity Youth ‘stakeholders’ meeting. Following on from this we are inviting feedback from parents and young people. The form for this can be accessed here and we’d be grateful for your responses as we plan and build teams for the future.

Exciting new opportunity! Could you help?

As part of our commitment to serve those with additional needs, we are currently exploring the possibility of starting a new toddler group from September aimed at pre-school children with additional needs (and their parents/carers). This group would be similar to Stay & Play, and use some of the same set up and equipment but also be tailored to the needs of those who attend. In order to commit to this we would need some new volunteers at both groups. The plan is to run Cheeky Keas on a Monday afternoon and to continue to run Stay & Play on a Tuesday morning. Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. This week we pray for all affected by the tragic cycling accident that happened in Carnon Downs last weekend and also for Christians in Burkina Faso subject to persecution and violence.

2. We thank God for St John’s Church and the recent intercession training that has happened over the last couple of weeks. We pray for the new homeless service starting on the 5th July and for those who are homeless and in vulnerable housing.

3. We praise God for our mission partners Mercy Rescue Trust. We pray for the baby foster care program and for the members of their team who provide temporary homes for the babies, giving them the best possible environment to thrive until a forever home is found for them.
