All Age Carol Service

This Sunday join us for our All Age Carol Service. It will be filled with carols led by our band, and children can come dressed up ready to retell the Christmas Story. We will be meeting as usual at Archbishop Benson School at 9.30am for this fun and interactive service.

Refreshments will be served both before and after the service so do join us there.

Old Ale House Carols

On Sunday evening we will be holding a very special Carol service upstairs at the Old Ale House in Truro. The evening will be wonderful opportunity to invite friends and family to in this relaxed and informal venue. During the evening our live band will lead us in contemporary carols as well as time to hear readings and reflect on this time of year. It is going to be a fantastic event so please do join us if you can. The evening kicks off at 6.30pm and drinks can be purchased from the bar.

ENABLE pauses for Christmas

Just a reminder there will be no Enable groups this week now we have finished for the Christmas break.

ENABLE returns with an all-together meeting on Thursday 11th January at 7:30pm. At this session we will introduce the third part of ENABLE where our focus will be on the person and work of the Holy Spirit. To help individuals attend this session, especially those with younger children, we are hosting the meeting online. During the evening there will be time for small groups to ‘break out’ into their own groups to talk and pray together. Christians Against Poverty - Part time debt coach

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for working with those in debt and for sharing the Christian faith.

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Support clients on their journey to becoming debt free through home visits and ongoing support

• Work alongside our CAP Centre Manager to support the work of the centre

• Maintain accurate record systems and co-ordinate with CAP volunteer

• Positively reflect the Christian faith and the core values of Christian Against Poverty

The role is well supported, and is part of a close-knit staff team, with monthly supervision, training provision as appropriate, and regular staff meetings.

As the post is based within a gospel-teaching Christian church, the post-holder will be required to understand and appreciate the Christian faith in order to carry out the role, and a DBS check will be required as the post-holder will be working with vulnerable adults.

Hours: 8 hours per week, across two four-hour sessions. Working days are negotiable.

Closing date: Our initial round of shortlisting will include all applications received no later than midnight 17th December 2023. (Interview date: Week commending 18th Dec or 2nd January at a mutually agreed time)

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. We pray for our diocese as they seek to appoint a new Bishop. Fr Simon Robinson, Dean of Truro and Chair of the Vacancy in See committee ask us “Please do pray for this whole process, for all those tasked with discerning who will be the next Bishop of Truro.”

2. We pray for our gospel partners the Wallace family. Thank you Lord for Richard’s new appointment at Datchet Church and we pray that during this busy Christmas time their family will be able to enjoy this time together.

3. Father God we want to pray for St Allen Church as they continue to seek to appoint a focal minister for their congregation. We pray for opportunities during this season that the gospel will be reached within their community.
