The Big Move - This Sunday

This Sunday, ChristChurch will be moving to our new home in the heart of Truro, The Living Room at 10 River St, TR1 2SQ. This is the beginning of an exciting new phase as we partner with our friends at The Dockyard and others.

We will be meeting at the same time as usual, 9:30 am. Marc will be opening God’s Word as we continue our series in 1 Peter. We will praise God together for the blessing of our new home, and we will be praying for the next phase of our life as a church.

In our Service this week

In recent months and years, we have become increasingly aware of leadership failures within different churches across our country. We have heard painful stories of abuse and the misuse of power, reaching even the most senior positions. So this week at ChristChurch, we are putting church leadership in the spotlight. 

In 1 Peter 5:1-7, Peter speaks directly to those in leadership, calling them to serve and set an example of Christlikeness. True leadership in the church isn’t about power or status but about shepherding others with a willing and humble heart. And whether we lead or follow, we are all called to clothe ourselves with humility, casting our anxieties on God because He cares for us. 

So what does it mean to lead and serve like Christ? How can we resist pride and entrust everything to God? How can we guard against toxic leadership and follow the pattern of Jesus? Join us as we reflect on these questions. We’d love for you to be part of the conversation this Sunday as we listen to God’s word, seeking His wisdom and encouragement together. 

Refreshments will be served both before and after our gathering. Children’s groups will meet for all ages.

Small Groups - This Week

This week we come to the final session which will conclude our weeks in 1 Peter. Each week, God’s word has been helping us explore what it looks like to live as God’s people. We have been reminded how we should go about ‘engaging’ with the world around us. Over the weeks, we have been challenged to live distinct and different lives: leaving behind our former way of life and living ‘good lives’ (2:11-12) that surprise the world (4:3-4) around us. Peter has also shown us again and again that living distinctive lives in this way will in many situations arouse opposition. The Christians Peter wrote to were accused of doing wrong (2:12), they were suffering for doing good (2:22) and people were speaking maliciously about the way they lived (3:16).

How are we to respond when we are insulted or marginalised for following Jesus? How should we feel and how should we act? How can we be encouraged to keep living God’s way? This is what we are going to explore this week.

Next week instead of meeting in our small groups we will be meeting together for our Prayer Evening on Thursday 20th March. Come along at 7.30pm for refreshments.

Women’s Breakfast - 22nd March

Our next Trinity Women’s Breakfast will be on Saturday 22nd March at 8.30 - 10am at St Kea Church. Come and join other women together to encourage one another in our Christian lives. There is usually a short talk and a lot of time for discussion and there's always a delicious breakfast and a warm welcome. 

This month in our series Heart Matters we will be looking at Heaven and Eternity.

There is also an optional book called ‘Women of the Word’ which runs alongside the series that is available when booking your ticket. These will be available to pick up at the breakfast. To book your place please click on the graphic above.

Church Camp 2025 - Booking Now Open!

We had such a fun time at our Church Camp last year that we are doing it all again this year! We have booked Tehidy Campsite once again from Friday 6th June until Sunday 8th June (Our Sunday service will also be held at the camp that week).

If you would like to come along to this wonderful weekend you can book your place for camping below. This year there is an option for an early bird ticket until 31st March at the cost of £25 per family, so don’t relay - book today!!

Trinity Church Away Day

On Saturday 10th May we are planning a wonderful church day together with our Trinity family. It will be an exciting day of teaching, great worship and fun activities for all. We are going to be joined by Tim Ling who leads an exciting ministry in Padstow who will be our guest speaker for the morning. There will also be groups for children and youth.

The day will be held at The Stithian’s Centre in Stithians and will run from 9.30am- 3.30pm with a pasty lunch. In the afternoon there will be different activities to choose from which will cater for all needs. The centre is fully accessible, but do get in touch with the office if you have any questions about this.

Youth Minister

Trinity Church are seeking a dedicated full-time Youth Minister to play a vital role in leading our growing ministry among young people in beautiful Cornwall.

As a church, we have a vision to see God transform lives in Truro through the proclamation of God’s word. The Youth Minister role provides an exciting opportunity to disciple young people, and to train and equip youth leaders across our Trinity ministry areas. Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join in praying for:

1. We pray for our leaders in our church. Please help them to follow Your example and to humble themselves under Your mighty hand (1 Peter 5:6).
Help them to do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than themselves (Philippians 2:3).
Help them to be gentle and humble in heart, like You (Matthew 11:29). Help them to clothe themselves with humility toward one another, knowing that You oppose the proud but give grace to the humble.

2. We give thanks that Truro Children’s Clothes Bank has found a home at “The Living Room”, a new venue in River Street, alongside The Dockyard Collective and Christians Against Poverty. 3. This week we give thanks for the work at St John’s Church. We pray for their continuing ministry in the heart of Truro that this will serve their community well. We pray for their midweek groups who read the bible together and for their family group which meets once a week.
