This Sunday - Wisdom with Money

Following our All-age service last week, our ‘Sunday Club’ is back this Sunday; they will be thinking about Jesus the King while the adults continue their series in Proverbs. It is Giving Sunday and we are thinking about money. Proverbs is full of wisdom about how we make money, use money and think about money - whether we have lots, very little or are just getting by. God’s word is so practical and we are asking God to give us His wisdom.

This Sunday, alongside our music and prayers, we will also be gathering around the Lord’s table and sharing communion together. This is a special moment for our church family each month, as we focus on all that Jesus has done for us.

Prayer is always available after the service, do ask other church members or speak to the service leader. Christ Church Truro meets at 9:30am in Archbishop Benson School TR1 1BN. Free parking available. Do join us as we grow in wisdom together.

Tonight 7:30 - Christ Church Prayer

Tonight at 7:30pm, we will be meeting to hear news about the life of our church and to pray for our church. We will especially be hearing about the development plans we have for Christ Church and committing them to our Lord. We will also be hearing information about the Church of England as well as looking further afield.

At Christ Church, we are convinced that the life of our church needs to be underpinned by prayer. These evenings are informative and encouraging. Alan and Jean Stanhope are hosting us once again and their address can be found in ChurchSuite. Refreshments served at the beginning.

Next Week - EQUIP Returns

Following our Prayer Meeting this week, next week EQUIP will be back - Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd March.

In EQUIP at the moment we are in thinking about the church and asking how the shape of the church should shape our lives. In our next session, we are going to be thinking about our place in the church. How do we all fit in and how might we be equipped to play our part? This session is foundational for our understanding of the life of our church.

This Saturday - Launch Celebration

In 35 other dioceses there are fellowships of evangelicals which aim to provide mutual encouragement and a place for dialogue amongst evangelicals in the Church of England. Although there may have been a Truro Diocesan Evangelical Fellowship (TDEF) in the past, this had lapsed.

In September 2022, a small group met to relaunch this and planned for a launch event of worship prayer and information. This is planned for this Saturday 25th February, 7pm at Holy Trinity St Austell. It is for all church members.

All Diocesan Evangelical Fellowships work together with The Church of England Evangelical Council, a national group which represents evangelicals from across the whole Church of England. For this launch event we are being joined by Rev'd John Dunnett who is the National Director of Strategy and Operations at the Church of England Evangelical Council. With much going on in the Church of England, he will help us think about how we might move forward.

This feels like a priority event at the moment as we come together to praise God and pray with others. If you possibly can, do be there.

Lent Course

This new Lent Course is designed for anyone across Trinity who is not in an Equip Group or Small Group. Four evenings in March, this is a chance to meet with others and dig into God’s word together. For more information contact Will Harwood (Minister at St John) using the email link below.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Give thanks for the launch of the Evangelical Fellowship on Saturday night. Pray that the Lord might use this coming together of evangelicals for His glory and for the growth of His kingdom across Cornwall.

2. Give thanks for our congregation at Christ Church Truro as we continue to meet together each week. Pray that we will grow as a Church family in number and in depth of love for Christ. Pray also for Marc our church leader as he leads us.

3. Pray for the continuing work of Compassion UK as they serve so many children in helping them out of poverty.
