This Sunday - Advent series continues

As we continue our series across the Trinity Church congregations, Marc will once again be preaching via a video and we will be spending our time in just one remarkable verse in chapter one of John’s gospel. Sunday Club and Sunday Youth are meeting as usual. Refreshments will be served before and after the service and our livestream will also be broadcast. Thank you to all those who supported our bake sale last Sunday. Yet again, in God’s kindness, we raised exactly the amount needed to send off the shoeboxes.

Women’s Breakfast, this Saturday 8:30am

Join us for our last Women’s Breakfast of the year. Christmas can often trigger a wide range of emotions! So right at the start of the festive season, we will take some time together to reflect on the true hope of Christmas and discover in the Psalms what brings true ‘Joy to the World’. Naomi Harwood is leading this.

Christmas services -

We’re getting excited about celebrating our Saviour’s birth in various ways this Christmas. Hopefully we’ll have plenty of space and opportunity for others to join us. Why not take a few flyers with you on Sunday and pop them inside some Christmas cards to neighbours?

Kea School Christmas workshops -

This morning Sam and Hugh welcomed three year groups to church (in turn) to think about Jesus, the promised rescuing king, and celebrating His birth at Christmas. We read a story together, sang, danced, made crown decorations and went on a treasure hunt. Please pray for the 200+ children who will come to these workshops this week, that they would know Jesus as their king.

Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving

A reminder about our 24/7 prayer event. We know next year will be challenging for many people with the cost of living and we know 2023 will be challenging for us a church, not least financially.

From 8am on Friday 9th December into Saturday 10th December we are asking if people will commit themselves to prayer for one hour. Ideally people will book in for a slot (either by themselves or with others) and come to church so there can be a sense of mutual encouragement and handing over the baton. If this isn’t possible then don’t worry, we’d still love you to join in from home. When you sign up for a slot it’s yours to use as you wish, you won’t arrive to find anything else happening. There will be a sign up sheet at church this Sunday.

Practical help needed

At present there are a growing number of small jobs needing doing at All Hallows. Some require very little practical ‘know how’ (digging a trench/scrubbing) others require some previous experience. If you could offer some time to help with one (or more) of these jobs then this would be a great blessing.

Churches Together in Truro prayer Jan/Feb

From time to time, the churches in Truro have come together specifically to pray for our city, for the advance of the gospel and for one another. We know that if we're going to see what we long to see, then we can't afford not to pray! We also know that it's especially powerful when believers from many different backgrounds gather together to pray.

Early next year there's going to be a city-wide month of prayer and fasting from 15th January to 12th February. There will be an in-person launch event on Monday 16th January at the Moresk Centre and a second event to mark the end of the month on 13th February at All Saints Highertown (both starting at 7:30pm)

Weekly Prayer Points

This week’s prayer points:

1. Pray for the Women’s Breakfast this Saturday. Give thanks for the friendships formed over the year. Pray that many would attend and enjoy a respite from the busyness of Christmas as they look at God’s word.

2. Please pray St John’s and Will as he settles in. Pray that God would bless this ministry and provide strong growth.

3. Please pray for Tearfund as they work with the poorest communities around the world. Pray that God’s love would be evident to all they come into contact with.
