This Sunday

Join us this coming Sunday for an all age service looking at Jesus’ famous parable in Luke 15. This would be a great service to invite guests and family to. If you come at 10am then there is also an opportunity to enjoy breakfast together in church before the service.

In addition the breakfast, refreshments will be served after the service and a livestream will be broadcast. Our groups for children and young people will resume next Sunday (25th June).

Old Kea - Favourite Hymns

Everyone is welcome this Sunday at 3.30pm to the beautiful surroundings at Old Kea for a celebration of favourite hymns. The service will be outside (weather permitting) so please bring along a chair to sit on. It will be led by Chris Parsons. Refreshments will be served after the service.

Kea Summer Fete - This Saturday

Please come along and support Kea Summer Fete this Saturday between 12-3pm.

Volunteers needed - There is still time to sign up and volunteer on the refreshments stall, selling teas/coffees and cakes. Do get in contact with Sian Goddard if you can spare an hour in the afternoon (details on Churchsuite)

We would love some cakes and traybakes for the stall, so if you or someone you know loves baking and could provide us with some delicious bakes please can you drop them off in the church hall from Friday 16th June or bring them on the day.

The fete is a wonderful opportunity to be part of the local community and to engage with the school parents. Some of the money raised at the event is donated towards our mission partners so please do consider coming to join in.

Baptism Sunday

On the 9th July, in our Sunday morning service, we hope to have both some Baptisms and affirmation of Baptismal vows. If you haven’t yet been baptised, or would like to publicly affirm the vows that were made on your behalf as an infant then please consider getting in touch to chat further. This is an opportunity for people of all ages. It would be useful to know by this coming Sunday, June 18th if you are considering this. Slip and Slide

Many of you will have seen the advertising for the Slip and Slide on the Killiow Estate which opens in July. They tell us it will be 110m long! We are co-ordinating a trip on Sunday 9th July (after the baptism service in the morning) but booking is direct with the company. Please note that this is a time slot open to the public and all children of any age need to be accompanied by an adult. The plan is to have a bring and share lunch for those staying after the baptism service and planning to join in with this.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. This week we continue to pray for young people taking exams and for those affected by the recent stabbings in Nottingham.

2. We give thanks for St Allen church and pray for them as they seek to witness to the surrounding area. We pray for the Kea Fete on Saturday, for the ongoing link between the church and the school and for important funds to be raised for both ‘Kea School Friends’ and Mercy Rescue Trust.

3. Heavenly Father, we rejoice that Barnabas-funded aid has become a “light of hope” for 2,000 Christian families struggling to survive following unprecedented flooding in Pakistan. As well as giving thanks that You have graciously attended to their practical needs, we are grateful that You have strengthened them in their faith. Please continue to be with them as they rebuild their lives, meeting all their needs according to the riches of Your glory in Christ Jesus, in whose Name we pray. (Philippians 4:19)
