This Sunday - CAP Sunday

Following on from our celebration of Harvest last weekend, we move to considering the opportunities we have, via our partnership with Christians Against Poverty, to help those in need.

As a church, we are delighted to support both Natalie Gavan and Steve Worts, in part-time roles, to offer help to those struggling with debt and we rejoice to see members of our church family also serving week by week.

Come along on Sunday to hear more about CAP, including some wonderful testimony, and to pray for this year-round work.

During the service there will be Sunday Club as normal. Refreshments are being served before and after our Sunday morning service as usual. Prayer after the service will be available.

This Saturday - Women’s Breakfast

This is the final chance to sign up for this Saturday’s breakfast (15th October, 8:30am). In this session we will be thinking about how life can leave us feeling shaken to the core and feeling uncertain about the future. Whether you are currently in circumstances that build you up, or battling those that threaten to knock you over, you are very welcome. We are looking at Psalm 62 and seeing how the writer found refuge in God. Through our time together, we will be encouraging each other to find that same rest for our souls.

All dietary requirements catered for, please make a note when booking. We hope to be welcoming women from across Trinity Church Truro and it will be a great opportunity to meet our sisters in Christ from across the city.

EQUIP - Your Future Home

Last week, in our Small Groups we were thinking about what it will be like to rise to a new ‘resurrection life’ with Jesus. This week we conclude the first part of Equip by reflecting on what our new home will be like when our resurrection bodies reach the new creation.

As this week is the end of the first section in Equip we will also be thinking about how the last five weeks could start to reshape our lives. It promises to be a great week. Christ Church Halloween Event

Every year it seems like Halloween is becoming bigger and bigger. Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon and people are genuinely looking for an opportunity to have some fun and to party - to put aside the pressures of life.

Of course, as Christians, we want nothing to do with celebrating the powers of darkness, but instead want to celebrate the light of Jesus Christ. To help us do that, our church family is organising a special event in Archbishop Benson School on the 31st October at 4:30pm. Our Halloween Event will be a chance for us to celebrate together and point to the light of Jesus that shines in the darkness.

There will be party games, food for children, an amazing party disco and much more. We hope to invite lots of people from the school and local community. We hope you can join us and we hope you will invite your friends as well.

Next Christ Church Prayer Meeting

On Thursday 27th October at 7:30pm we are holding our next Christ Church prayer meeting. As a church family, we want to be those who depend on Jesus for everything we do. Prayer is at the heart of our life together. It is only as we pray that we believe Jesus will build His church. So let’s gather together to give thanks to God and to pray for the life of our church family. This is hosted at Alan and Jean Stanhope’s home and their address can be found in ChurchSuite.

Communication Help

At our last Christ Church Leadership Team meeting, our leaders were considering how we could communicate better as a church family and with those outside our church. Communication is always challenging and we have much to learn.

We especially want to think about how we help others outside the church know about all we are doing and we would love some help. If you might be willing to help us think about graphics, communications and especially our social media we would love to hear from you. We can be flexible about what is involved. Contact Marc if you think this might be a way you could serve our church family and help others connect with all we are doing.

Small Team to support Hardwoods

As some members of Christ Church will know, we are asking the whole Trinity Church family to consider if there might be five or six people to join and support Will and Naomi Harwood and our friends at St John’s Church Truro. Thank you to the small number of people who have expressed interest in this. Do contact Marc if you would like to know more about what is involved. We hope to be selecting and commissioning the small group in the next few weeks.

This Sunday - Old Kea Feast

There will be a Holy Communion service and the church will be decorated especially for harvest. Any harvest gifts received will be donated to St Petrocs. Refreshments will be served after the service. All are welcome

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Please give thanks for the work of Christians Against Poverty and pray for the year ahead as more and more people are struggling with debt.

2. Pray for our friends at St Kea Church. Praise God for new people joining and many offering to serve in new ways. Pray especially for their ministry to teenagers and young people.

3. Pray for the needs and life of our own church family: for the Halloween Party coming soon; our need to grow our communications and the ongoing Equip groups.
