This Sunday - God breathed words

This week we arrive at some of the most famous words in Paul’s second letter to Timothy. Come and be encouraged by the power of the word of God to save and keep his people.

Sunday Club and Sunday Youth will be running as normal and refreshments will be served before and after the service. Our livestream will return. You can catch up on our sermon series so far by clicking on the image above.

As Jonathan Larkin mentioned at our Harvest service, we are organising a litter pick event this coming Saturday, starting at Kea School. It’s a great way to express our care for God’s creation, and all would be welcome to join.

As in previous years our bereavement support ministy, Living with Loss, are inviting people to a service of remembering near the time of All Hallows Eve for people to come and remember loved ones. There will be a book of remembrance for people to sign and a list of names will also be read out. Whether or not you can make it to the service, you can submit a name by email using the button below.

Contact details and further info can be found on their website.

Operation Christmas Child - until 14th Nov

St Kea is once again taking part in Operation Christmas Child and will will be a drop-off location for the community. Please consider being part of this mission project this year – here’s how:

1. Pack a shoebox of gifts for a child and bring it to church during National Collection Week (14-21 November). Pick up a leaflet from the back of church or click the image above to find out what can and can’t be included.

2. From now until 14th November, there’s also a festively-wrapped box at the back of church to collect donations of any suitable items that the youth group can then use to pack extra boxes with. Last year we were able to create an additional 30 boxes from your generous donations so if you are out shopping we’d be grateful if you could pop an extra bar of soap, packet of pens, pair of gloves etc in your shopping basket and bring them into church.

3. Tell others and encourage them to pack a box and drop it off at church during National Collection Week. Please pray for a successful year for the project

Wreath making event

To kickstart our Christmas celebrations this year, St Kea are hosting a wreath-making evening. Designed to bring guests to, this relaxed and enjoyable event will include a wreath-making demonstration, time to create your own beautiful wreath, and a short interview with a Christian about what Christmas means to them. Mulled wine and sweet and savoury canapes will be served, and materials to make the wreaths will be provided. Tickets are £15 and can be bought on the church website or via clicking the image above. Numbers are limited, so do book early to secure places for you and your friends!

Weekly Prayer Points

This week’s prayer points:

1. Please pray for the Halloween events happening at St Kea and Christ Church this coming Monday. Pray that they will be well attended and that the message of Jesus being the true light of the world will be clearly taught.

2. Please pray for Kenwyn Church and particularly for Andy Boorne as he settles in to his new role serving the church family. Pray that God would make clear which opportunities within the community they should concentrate on.

3. Please pray for the Wallace family and for Richard’s trip to El Salvador in November. Pray also for his appointment at the US Embassy in London for a US visa on November 9th to be hassle free.
