New Series - The Generosity Project

Back in September we launched our theme for the academic year, ‘MORE’.   Looking at Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3 we reflected on the God who “is able to do immeasurably MORE than all we ask or imagine”. This Spring we continue with this theme by thinking about God’s generosity towards his people and how we are called to increasingly reflect that generosity. This Sunday we will think about God’s generosity towards us in both creation and salvation.

During the service there will also be communion and our children’s groups will continue as usual, so do join us if you can.

Prayer Evening - This Thursday

This Thursday at 7.30pm instead of meeting in our small groups we will be gathering together to prayer for our church at Alan and Jean Stanhope’s house (their address can be found on Churchsuite).

At the evening we will be particularly focusing and praying for Christ Church’s venue as well as other things that are happening in our congregation, so if you haven’t joined us for a prayer evening before do think about coming along, we’d love to see you there.

New Breakfast Programme - 2024

We are really looking forward to launching a new series of Women’s Breakfasts for 2024. Starting the first Saturday in February, each week we are going to think about God and how knowing him as he really is changes the way we think about ourselves and our lives. These meetings are for any women across all the Trinity Churches.

There is also a book to accompany the series called ‘None Like Him’ which is available to buy.  If you wish to purchase one you can add it to your ticket and pick up at the breakfast. Click on the link below to sign up for the 3rd February 8.30-10am.

Music Ministry Evening - 6th February

We are really excited that Andy Fenton from Music Ministry is travelling down in February to run a workshop for musicians and singers. This will be held at St Kea Church and is open to both those who already serve in leading our sung worship and those considering getting involved.

Andy is a very experienced church musician and is involved in teaching and practical training across the UK. Please bring along your instruments, as part of the evening will be a practical session.

We trust that this update finds you well and with much vision for what God wants to do in and through your lives in 2024. It has been a couple of months since we have been in touch and we wanted to update you on what has been happening, as well as ask for prayers for 2024.

Vacancy in See Public Consultation Meeting

There will be a consultation meeting chaired by Simon Robinson, Chair of the Vacancy in See Committee, and the opportunity for Stephen Knott (the Archbishops’ Secretary for Appointments) and Helen Dimmock (Archbishops’ Secretary for Appointments) to hear from people across our diocese.

The aim of the consultations is to explore from a broad range of perspectives the challenges and opportunities that will be encountered by the next Bishop as they start their ministry. The Appointment Secretaries seek to understand the opportunities to work in partnership for the benefit of the people of our diocese, and in the light of those, they can begin to reflect on the qualities that might be required in the next Bishop.

The public consultation meeting will be on Tuesday 6 February 2024 at 7pm for one hour. This meeting is open to anyone who might wish to attend.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Father God, thank you for your love and grace. Please help us to be more like you in our thoughts, words, and actions. Help us to be patient, kind, and compassionate towards others and to be humble and selfless. Please transform us into the people you want us to be.

2. This week we pray together with the Barnabus Fund - We ask for the protection of our vulnerable brothers and sisters. Ask, too, that they will be kept from fear, filled with the knowledge that they dwell in the shelter of the Most High, and rest in the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1). Pray that they may face the coming 12 months with joy and hope, springing from their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

3. We lift St Allen to you Lord. Thank you for the congregation who meet there and for the ministers who preach there.
