All Age Service - This Sunday

Join us this Sunday as we start our 2024 All Age series, If I Could Ask God One Question… This year we will be looking at the Psalms and how they teach us the whole counsel of God and answer some of our deepest questions. This week our question is “What is going to make me happy?” These All Age services are a great opportunity to invite others along who might not normally come to church.

Groups for children and young people pause. Refreshments will be available before and after the service and a livestream will be broadcast.

We will be singing a song that might be new to people, from the CityAlight album ‘Simple Songs for Young and Old’. Please do take a listen before Sunday so that you can help us sing it. Click on the button below.

Small Groups - This Week

ENABLE is all about exploring the wonderful ‘means’ that God has given us as disciples to help us serve Him with the whole of our lives. God does not leave us alone to wait for Jesus’ return. He sends his Holy Spirit to come and make His home in us. So far in this series we have been exploring the work of the Holy Spirit when he comes to us. We first saw that He is the one that gives us life and a new birth. We then saw that He is the one who shows us Jesus and makes Jesus known to us. These are both wonderful blessings that we do not deserve. They flow from God’s grace, mercy and love. But in grace, mercy and love God’s blessings keep on flowing.

This week we are exploring the third work of the Holy Spirit - He enables us to be called a child of God.

Next week we will be taking a break from our small groups for half term and the following week we will be meeting together to pray, so our next small group meetings will be the week beginning 26th February.

Old Kea Service - 3.30pm

Please join us on Sunday 18th February at Old Kea Church where Rev Chris Parsons will be leading the service. These services are open to everybody so do come along and be in this special place.

Silver Eco Church Award

At St Kea, we're working towards a Silver Eco Church award. We'll be sharing monthly eco tips to help us all care better for God's wonderful creation.

Here are February’s Eco Tips:

Get ideas for how your household can better care for creation by signing up to the Creation Care scheme https://creationcare.org.uk If you complete the questionnaire before 17th February, and have reached Bronze, Silver or Gold level, your household could receive an award at our service on 18th February. (We'll give out further awards later in the year, so don't worry if you need to do some work to reach Bronze, Silver or Gold.) Our very own Annabelle South will also be featured on Songs of Praise on the 18th February talking about this.

Save The Date - Trinity Evening

Once a term we meet together as a Benefice for an evening of updates, stories of encouragement from each congregation, hymns and prayers for each congregation. This term we will be gathering at Kenwyn Church so do join for drinks and puddings from 7pm, with our evening together starting at 7.30pm. We look forward to seeing you then. Note the date for our next St Kea Fellowship evening below, in just over a fortnight.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Father God we prayer for people who are suffering with illness at the moment, including those with a cancer diagnosis. We pray for the comfort that can oly come from knowing you, whether that is for the first time or by persevering in faith through tough times. Because you tell us in your word to pray for those in authority, we also pray for our King and for him to know you in his diagnosis.

2. Thank you God for the work of Compassion UK across 29 countries and through 8,500 churches. We give thanks for all the the people who currently sponsor a child and pray for life changing hope to come through your work in these projects.

3. We pray for our curate Andy Boorne as he leads Kenwyn Church. Thank you for new people who have recently started attending the Church and we pray for relationships to build.
