Summer Sundays at Moresk

This Sunday we are back at the Moresk Centre as we conclude our summer series ‘The Flipped Kingdom’.

This week we will be looking at the what Jesus says in comparison to what the world says about being Generous.

Services will be all age and have interactive activities for everyone to enjoy. There will be refreshments served both at the beginning and end of the service as well as Prayer ministry.

Parking at the Moresk: There is a carpark opposite which is chargeable and there are usually spaces along Mitchell hill (towards Archbishop Benson) where you can park for free.

Vision Sunday - 3rd September

Next Sunday come and hear about the vision for our church at 9.30am at the Moresk Centre then join in with lunch, activities and fellowship at the vicarage in Kea from 12pm, followed by an evening of praise and worship at Kea Church from 7.30pm. All welcome to attend. Please click below to book your tickets by Tuesday 29th August so we know numbers for catering.

This day will be the last time we meet at the Moresk Centre before returning to Archbishop Benson School on the 10th September.

Dockyard Summer Fete

The Dockyard Collective are helping to run a Summer Fun Day on the Trelander Estate on Saturday 26th August (11am-2pm) and would love for you to join them. They will be running a variety of stalls and activities for families to enjoy as we continue to build relationships and serve the community. Small Groups

Please do join us for the launch of our new study for the year called ‘Enable’ on the evening of Thursday 7th September. This will complement our new sermon series which starts with some weeks looking at Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.

Autumn gathering of the TDEF

After the celebratory launch of the Diocese Evangelical Fellowship (DEF) back in February the committee have announced the next meeting which will take place on Saturday 30th September. There will be a panel of speakers chosen to inspire us including the include the Rev’d Rob Fowler and our very own Natalie Gavan. Christians from across churches in the Diocese of Truro are invited to join, whether lay or ordained.

Youth and Families Worker

This is an exciting opportunity for the post holder to develop new ministry reaching out to low-income youth and families within the Powder Deanery.  The successful applicant will work within an existing mission team to connect with those not normally reached by traditional expressions of church, developing new support services and accessible ways to explore the Christian faith. 

This is a 25 hour per week post, grant funded by the Lowest Income Communities Funding (LICF) mission of the Church of England. Check out the job description for more information.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. This week we pray for all our young people who will be receiving their GCSE’s on Thursday. We ask for your blessings on them as they navigate their next steps of education.

2. Please join us as we pray for the volunteers who have joined Compassion UK to support the 80,000 people of Peru who have been affected by avalanches, floods and landslides. Help the volunteers to seek and help communities to rebuild their lives after these devastations.

3. We praise God for the congregation of St Allen Church.
