This Sunday - Mothering Sunday

This Sunday is Mothering Sunday. At Christ Church we will be hosting an All-Age service for everyone. We will be thinking about how everyone has the opportunity to care for others and how God uses our everyday caring in amazing ways. We know that, for some people, Mothering Sunday can be a hard or challenging Sunday and so we have carefully designed this Sunday for everyone, whatever your experience of motherhood. Mothering Sunday is a great time when we can invite friends or family to join us as we celebrate God’s love for all.

Next Sunday our children’s groups will resume as usual. Refreshments are served both before and after the service and prayer is always available after the service; do ask other church members or speak to the service leader. Christ Church Truro meets at 9:30am in Archbishop Benson School TR1 1BN. Free parking available.

Next Wednesday - Trinity Evening

Next Wednesday 22nd we are hosting our next Trinity fellowship, information and prayer evening. This is a chance to meet with other members of our Trinity family over simple refreshments. It is also a chance for the whole church to find out how the developments are progressing and to ask questions. We will be holding a short service of reflection and prayer towards the end of the evening.

The event is being hosted at Kenwyn Parish Church on 22nd March. 7pm for refreshments and the evening will finish at about 8:30pm. Do come and join us as we meet together.

EQUIP Central - Thursday 30th 7:30pm

On Thursday 30th March at 7:30pm we are meeting in Starbucks for EQUIP Central. We have been thinking about the church over the last few weeks, about how it is built and what role we have to play in it.

At EQUIP Central, we will be reviewing our thinking from this series and reflecting together on how we should be shaping the life of our church as a result of this teaching. During the evening, we will also be answering questions that our series on the church has raised.

This evening is a great way to end the series and hear from one another. Free parking is available in Truro at all council car parks. This evening is open to all members of our church, whether you are part of an EQUIP group or not.

Women’s Breakfast - Next Saturday

Next Saturday, 25th March 8:30am, is our next Women’s Breakfast. Do consider joining with women from across our Trinity churches for delicious food and time to enjoy each other’ company. Sign up using the link from the front page of the St Kea website.

APCM - Electoral Roll Applications

Our APCM is to be held on Wednesday 26th April at 7.30pm. If you are part of Christ Church and have not yet completed an Electoral Roll form it would be great if you could do so ASAP. Closing date for applications for this year is 2nd April. The form can be found on our website, using the link below. Being a member of the Electoral Roll means you can vote at our APCM for members to join our church council and for members to represent us on Deanery Synod.

Giving Response

Over the last few weeks, we have been asking church members to consider their giving to our church. You would have also heard that, at the moment, our church is not sustainable. We asked everyone who is a regular member of Christ Church to give towards our work and we asked existing members if they might consider increasing their regular giving by 10%.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Give thanks for our recent series thinking about wisdom. Pray that we would be a church that puts all we have been learning into practice in our life together.

2. Give thanks for St Clement Church and the work that takes place amongst that congregation. Pray especially for the ministry at St Clement for those who have been bereaved recently. Pray that others would come to know the love of Christ.

3. Pray for the Wallace family. Shortly Richard Wallace will be joining us for Gospel Partnership Sunday. Pray for Richard ahead of his trip, for his teaching ministry and his work in training partners. Pray that his visit to Truro would be an encouragement to us all.
