Gospel Partnership Sunday

One of the great joys of joining the family for God, through receiving the gospel message, is that we are bound to others as brothers and sisters in Christ. We reflect this in our formal links to charities and individuals whom we support with prayer and finances in the hope that we bring both gospel encouragement to believers and gospel sharing opportunity to those who aren’t yet believers. We also seek partnership with others locally through various means. One of these is the Peninsula Gospel Partnership, a cross-denominational group of churches. This Sunday we welcome Simon Smallwood who will be our guest speaker.

Children’s groups continue this Sunday for our younger creche aged children, 4-11 years as well as our older children’s group from 11+. There will also be communion during the service. We’d love to see you there.

Enable - Spiritual Gifts

Over the last few weeks, we have been thinking about the person and work of the Holy Spirit. We have thought about the work of the Holy Spirit in: a. giving life; b. showing us Jesus and c. teaching us to know that we are children of God. We have also spent time thinking around some key teachings about the Holy Spirit: a. how to allow the Holy Spirit to fill every part of our lives and b. how not to grieve or resist His work.

This week, we come to the last of our sessions on the Holy Spirit and we are thinking about spiritual gifts. As with the other sessions, there is much more to say about this topic than we could ever cover in one session. Survey a church like ours and you will find lots of questions about spiritual gifts and sometimes discussions have led to contention. It is really sad when that happens because spiritual gifts are given to the church to build the church up (1 Cor 12:7) and they are always to be used in love (1 Cor. 13).

In this week’s session our focus will be on ‘building up’ and ‘love’ even as we touch on some of the more contentious questions.

Women’s Breakfast

This year in our Trinity Women’s Breakfasts we are looking at attributes of God -a fantastic way to encourage each other to completely rely on our God and grasp how He can be trusted with every detail of our lives. If you’re curious about who God says He is, this is a great place to start.

On Saturday 23rd March at Kea Church we are focusing on God’s self-existence, what it means for us that God is uncreated and the creator of everything. Do join us as we explore this truth and see how it can transform our walk with Christ

Trinity Evening - 20th March

Next Wednesday we be meeting together as a benefice for an evening of updates, stories of encouragement from each congregation, hymns and prayers for each congregation. This term we will be gathering at Kenwyn Church so do join for drinks and puddings from 7pm, with our evening together starting at 7.30pm. We look forward to seeing you then.

Easter At Trinity Churches

We are excited to share all the different services we have coming up over the Easter period at Christ Church starting with our all age Palm Sunday service on 24th March.

On Maundy Thursday we will join together with our friends at St Kea Church to have a wonderful Praise and Worship evening as well as sharing in a meal together and taking communion during the service. If you are looking for a more reflective/quiet service, Kenwyn Church will be holding a service at the same time.

Good Friday we are back at ABB School for an all age family service in the morning at 9.30.

Finishing on Easter Sunday where we will be celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt for the the children and young people.

Do be thinking of friends and family you could invite to these different services.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. We give thanks for our weekly Enable groups, allowing us time to be together to love and support one another. Help us to reflect on our discussions about ‘Filled Christians are Christians who allow the Spirit’s influence to flood into all areas of their lives, to allow Him to change and to shape and to mold.’

2. This week we pray for all the Evangelical churches and leaders around Cornwall who teach the Gospel. We ask you Lord that you might use evangelicals for His glory and for the growth of His kingdom across Cornwall.

3. Please pray for our Gospel Partners Barnabas Fund as they support Christian communities, churches and individuals around the world who face persecution and discrimination because of their faith.
