Embracing Weakness

If we live in the West, we are already among the very richest in the world by more than one metric. Although we see (and often lament) the shortcomings in our economy, our health and social care system or individual opportunity, we find ourselves in an enviable position compared to the global average. This Sunday as we continue our series thinking about generosity we turn to the counter-cultural teaching of the Bible and the promises of finding joy in unexpected ways as we embrace God’s economy.

Children’s groups will be resume and refreshments will be available before and after the service, so do join us if you can.

Prayer Evening - Next Week

As part of our Enable small group programme we will be meeting together on Thursday 22nd February at 7.30pm at Alan and Jean Stanhope’s home to pray and hear updates about what is happening in our Church. At Christ Church we believe prayer underpins everything we do so do join us for this wonderful evening.

Truro Diocese Evangelical Fellowship

Twice a year Christians with evangelical convictions, from churches across the Diocese, are invited to gather and sing praise to God, pray for the the Diocese and be encouraged by a visting speaker. In March the Rt Rev’d Dr Jill Duff, the Bishop of Lancaster, will be the speaker. CEEC was first created by John Stott in 1960 to provide a “collective” evangelical voice within the Church of England and Diocesan Evangelical Fellowships (DEF’s) are a local expression of this. Since the TDEF was re-booted last February (with support from Bishop Philip) the two meetings have been encouraging and uplifting, with good numbers and representation from a considerable number of churches across the Diocese.

Save The Date - Trinity Evening

Once a term we meet together as a Benefice for an evening of updates, stories of encouragement from each congregation, hymns and prayers for each congregation. This term we will be gathering at Kenwyn Church so do join for drinks and puddings from 7pm, with our evening together starting at 7.30pm. We look forward to seeing you then.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. God, in this first week of Lent, help us to mark the start of this season by deepening our relationship with You as we journey with You to the cross.

2. This week we pray for the churches Tearfund work with around the world. We pray that God would bless their partnerships and use them to bring restoration to their communities.

3. Please pray for St Clements Church and their leader Di Willoughby. We thank you God for the work they do within their community.
