This Sunday - Our Response

Our series in the book of Acts continues this Sunday. Last week we saw the Spirit-empowered apostle Peter speaking the word of God. This week we ask, “How should we respond to this message?” This message is for those who are not yet following Jesus, for those who have started following Him and for the whole church. This message will challenge us individually and also as a church together. So join us as God’s word is let loose amongst us in the power of His Spirit.

This week our groups for all ages meet again. We have groups for those in pre-school, those in Foundation to Year 5 and this week a new group for those in Year 6 and above.

Refreshments are served both before and after the service and prayer is always available after the service; do ask other church members or speak to the service leader. 

This Sunday - After Service Picnic

Do join us straight after the service this Sunday for a Church Family Picnic on the school field. Please bring your own seats/blankets and something to eat. There will be fun games for all the family to play as well as time to chat and be together.

Equip - The End Is Coming

This week we started the final part of EQUIP: looking at Colossians together and exploring what it is like living for Jesus. Next week we will continue, thinking specifically about what that might look like for each on of us, all heading towards our gathering together on the 20th July for a very special evening of commitment and praise.

The heart of EQUIP is reflecting on a few simple truths and allowing them to deeply impact and shape our lives. These final steps in the journey of self-discovery could be exciting ones for each of us. Why not ask God to use these last EQUIP weeks to deeply equip us for lives of discipleship?

Trinity Churches Together

We are looking forward to our upcoming fellowship evening together, being held at St John’s Church on Wednesday 28th June. This is a great opportunity to hear about what is happening in the different Trinity churches. Please do arrive from 7pm for refreshments, we shall be starting together at 7.30pm. As usual, there will be a chance both to ask questions and to feed back as we listen to one another.

Get Involved?

As we are getting closer to becoming one church as Trinity, we love to keep in touch with all the congregations across Trinity and the ministry we are engaged in together. We hope we can continue to pray for one another and share news of the Lord’s work amongst us.

This week we are focusing on the work of Trinity Youth and how you can get involved with this ministry.

1) This coming Saturday morning, 10th June, is the first of two Trinity Youth ‘stakeholder’ meetings for anyone interested to hear an update, hear the plans for the future and feed into shaping these. You can sign up for this via ChurchSuite, 8-9.30am in the St Kea church hall. The second of these meetings will be on the 7th July 7.30-9pm.

2) Help with transport for SPREE SW 23rd - 25th June. We have the delightful problem of a large group of young people signed up for SPREE SW and don’t have enough capacity in the minibus and cars that are already driving up and back. You could help by: suggesting another minibus we could borrow; lending us a large car (ideally 7 seats); or planning a weekend break yourself that would enable you to drive up past Exeter on Friday 23rd and back around lunchtime on the 25th.

3) As part of our ministry on the Trelander Estate, we have an exciting opportunity to run some holiday club activities for children, young people and their families over the summer. This will be taking place in the mornings between Tuesday 29th August - Friday 1st September. We’d love to gather a team of people who could help in various ways to deliver this and it would be great to know ASAP who might be available.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. This week we pray for our young people who are still in the midst of exams and assessments as well as for young people generally - that many in our city would have the opportunity to put their trust in Jesus and enjoy relationship with Him.

2. We give thanks for St Clements Church, praying for: their witness in the surrounding area; for the support they offer to those who are bereaved and for all who lead and serve in their church family.

3. ‘The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.’ (Psalm 24:1-3) We are in a time of climate crisis. As a result, more people are going hungry, extreme weather events are more frequent and severe and communities are being displaced. Please pray for people who are being pushed back into poverty because of this and for the consequences of damage to God’s creation.
