This Sunday - How to Live Life on the Margins 

This world can often feel like a strange and confusing place. Events unfold that surprise us, delight us, challenge us, and sometimes leave us deeply concerned. 

In our series over the past few weeks, we’ve been reminded that this world is not the ultimate home for Christians. We are people on a journey, travelling towards a glorious future inheritance. But how should Christians respond to the events of this world? How can we make a meaningful impact for good on society? What should we do when our faith is opposed? And how can we live distinctive lives when things feel uncertain? 

Join us this week as we tackle these practical questions. We’ll be focusing particularly on what it means to live faithfully in the world of work and under the authority of government. 

Let’s pray together for wisdom and seek God’s guidance through His word as we navigate these important issues together. Do come and join us.

In our service, we will also be sharing Holy Communion together. Our groups for children and young people continue and refreshments are served both before and after our gathering. Livestream will be broadcast and prayer ministry will be available after the service.

A decision worth making

Over the first two studies in this series we have been exploring what it looks like to live as Christians who are engaged in the world around them. Peter was writing to Christians who were facing opposition for following Jesus. He wanted them to be reminded of the reasons they have to be joyfully and confidently living for Jesus, even in the midst of trials.

What does life on the margins actually look like? How are we to live as we wait for Jesus’s return? What is going to keep us going? What are the implications of living in the light of eternity? ENGAGE continues this week.

Last Day for Pledges - This Sunday

This week is the last week of our appeal for pledges towards our new growth initiative for 2025 as we seek to appoint a full time dedicated Youth and Families Worker.

For us to be able to make this appointment we calculated that everyone who currently gives regularly to our work at ChristChurch and St Kea will need to pledge an additional £20 a month. We appreciate some can give more and others less, we are grateful for every pledge. Some might also be able to start giving to our work for the first time.

Thank you to everyone who has been asking about this initiative and thank you for the 33 pledges we have so far received. We are so very grateful for each pledged offered in generosity.

Sunday 2nd February is the last day for additional pledges so do make your pledge this week. Next week we will be able to tell everyone the result of this appeal. Trinity News

This week we are celebrating Rev Will Harwood, after his position at St John’s Church has officially been made permanent in partnership with Trinity Church. We would like to pray for Will and the congregation at St John’s, may this continued work together be rooted in Your will, and may it bring glory to Your name.

Electoral Roll - For Everyone!

Every 5 years those who are part of our church need to sign up again to be on the electoral roll. So this it is now time for everyone who has been regularly coming to our church for at least six months to fill in a new application form.

Electoral Roll is the official membership of our church and enables you to vote at our annual meeting where we elect our trustees. You can find a copy of the form at the link below. Or if you would prefer a paper copy will be available on the welcome table from this Sunday.

Once filled in please place into the welcome box in church or email the church office at office@trinitytruro.org.uk The last day for handing in your form is the 14th April.

Last chance to sign up

This week is the final week you can sign up to the parenting session ‘A Mind of Their Own’. St Kea Church Hall from 7.00-8.30pm during the regular Tuesday Night Youth session – younger siblings are welcome to attend youth group that evening to allow parents to attend if needed. Refreshments will also be provided.

Women’s Breakfast 8th Feb

There is still time to sign up for our first Women’s Breakfast of 2025 (click on the picture above). Join us as come together to encourage one another in our Christian lives. There will be a short talk and a lot of time for discussion and there's always a delicious breakfast and a warm welcome. 

In 2025 our focus is Heart Matters and we'll be looking together at friendship, forgiveness, contentedness, anxiety, heaven and eternity. In February we'll be exploring together how the Bible transforms both our minds and our hearts, so that we might know and love our God better. We welcome all women of all ages and stages of life. So do join us on February 8th from 8.30-10am as we launch our Heart Matters series.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join in praying for:

1. We pray for our church, that we may stand firm in faith and be a beacon of hope and light in the world. Grant us the strength to live out Your teachings with integrity and compassion, reflecting Your love in all we do.

2. This week we pray for our gospel partners Truro Foodbank. Thank you that despite the drop in food donations, they had enough resources to buy food to feed the increasing number of people who came. Thank you for the wonderful staff and volunteers who serve their customers; for advisors who help them. Thank you for new initiatives, for partnerships old and new, for their premises and for the opportunity to engage in national and local projects whose aim is to ensure justice and raise wellbeing. Thank you that they have seen your presence and discerned your guidance through all the challenges they have faced this year. Please guide them as they face the future. 3. Loving Father we praise and thank You for the work of Dockyard. We ask that as they have a short break whilst the move to the River Street venue happens that they will have time to plan for the cafe and other activities they run. Thank you for their newly appointed community enabler Rachel. We pray she settles into the team bringing her wisdom and knowledge.
