This Sunday - Remembrance Sunday

This Sunday, we will be commemorating Remembrance at Christ Church. In our All Age Service, we will be giving thanks to God for all those who have given their lives in the service of freedom and peace. We will also be reflecting on the ultimate sacrifice of our Saviour Jesus, who gave His life for our eternal freedom and peace. There will be a moment of quiet reflection as part of the service.

Refreshments are being served both before and after our Sunday morning service as usual. Providing refreshments before and after our Sunday services is a great way to welcome people and it encourages us all to spend time together in our church family. Thank you to everyone who is now bringing a reusable cup to church as it helps us to care for God's creation and reduces church costs. If you think you might be able to help serve our congregation by being a member of the refreshment team on a monthly basis please just speak to anyone serving refreshments to find out more.

Sunday Club for all children returns next week as they start their new series in the build up to Christmas.

EQUIP - This Week

This week we continue with EQUIP as we come to Romans 1:18-32. We will continue to ask some fundamental questions about what it is to be human. We will be exploring what is going on deep inside us all. It is both challenging and revealing. We all worship something, the question is ‘what are we really worshiping?’

Next Prayer Event

At Christ Church we want everything we do to be undergirded with prayer. We also know that there are many things we need to pray about as we seek to serve and impact our city for Christ. Join us for an encouraging evening of prayer on Thursday 24th November at 7:30pm. This event is being held at Alan and Jean’s home. Church Members can find details on ChurchSuite.

Note: There are no EQUIP small groups the week of the prayer meeting as we want to encourage everyone to attend.

Wreath Making Event

To kickstart our Christmas celebrations this year, we are holding an event for the whole of Trinity Church. Hosted at St Kea, our wreath-making evening is designed as another opportunity to invite guests. The evening will include a wreath-making demonstration, time to create your own beautiful wreath, and a short interview with a Christian about what Christmas means to them.

Mulled wine and sweet and savoury canapes will be served and materials to make the wreaths will be provided. Tickets are £15 and can be bought on the church website (or via clicking the link below). Numbers are limited, so do book early to secure places for you and your friends!

Women’s Breakfast Saturday 3rd December

You are very welcome to join us for our final Women’s Breakfast of the year. Christmas can often trigger a wide range of emotions and so, right at the start of the festive season, we will take some time to reflect on the true hope of Christmas and discover in the Psalms what brings true “Joy to the World!”

Next Sunday - Countdown Begins

Next Sunday, we are looking forward to launching our New Series marking the start of our countdown to Christmas at Christ Church. It promises to be a special series leading up to our Carol Services on the 18th December. These services will be great events to invite family and friends to. Look out for more information next week.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and family that we can join together in praying for:

1. As we come to Remember on Sunday, give thanks for all those who serve us. Give thanks for those who serve our country in different uniformed professions. Also give thanks for those who serve our church family in many different ways.

2. This week please pray for our small groups as we continue with EQUIP. Pray that God’s word would be encouraging us and equipping us to live for Jesus.

3. Pray for all those involved in planning for our Christmas events including our Christmas Party and our Carol Services. Pray for those we might want to invite to come and join with us on these special occasions.
