This Sunday - All Age Harvest

In the service we will be giving thanks to God for His provision, bringing donations for Truro Foodbank, highlighting Operation Christmas Child and thinking about how to care for His creation and act with justice towards those threatened by climate change.

After the service there will be coffee as normal, and an opportunity to continue thinking about creation care and climate justice in a workshop (inc a personal audit). After this we will also have a bring and share lunch in the church building, so please do stay to join us. Thank you to all who have already signed up to bring something, any more contirbutions welcome and please do join us even if you haven’t brought anything as there is likely to be enough to go around.

We are delighted about our partnership with Truro Foodbank and tireless service that so many of our church family have given over the years. At the moment Truro foodbank are particularly in need of: tins of fruit, tins of meat, 500g or 1kg packets of rice, instant coffee, laundry liquid/powder, washing-up liquid. Donations of any other non-perishable food & household items (which can be stored easily) are welcome. There will be an opportunity to bring these to the front near the start of our service.

Help needed for Falmouth Christian Union

Due to the rail strikes this weekend, Falmouth CU have contacted us to ask if anyone with D1 entitlement might be able to drive a minibus from Mithian to Penryn to the Heatree Centre and then back to Mithian tomorrow evening (Friday 5pm). If this could be you then please do contact Hugh asap.

Martin's Men's Breakfast - this Saturday

South West Awake - Friday 14th October

Join Christians across the South West as they gather around fires on beaches and unite together in prayer. Some of us will, God willing, be on Porthtowan beach, but you can join in wherever convenient.

At times, the circumstances of life leave us feeling shaken to the core; life can be uncertain and those around us sometimes hurt us the most. Whether you are currently in circumstances that build you up, or battling those that threaten to knock you over, you are very welcome at our Women’s Breakfasts. This month, we are looking at Psalm 62 and seeing how the writer found rest and refuge in God when he was threatened and vulnerable. Through our time together, we will be encouraging each other to find that same rest for our souls!

All dietary requirements catered for; please make a note when booking.

We will be welcoming women from across Trinity Church Truro and it will be a great opportunity to meet our sisters in Christ from across the city.

Old Kea Feast - Sunday 16th October 3:30pm

There will be a Holy Communion service and the church will be decorated especially for harvest. Any harvest gifts received will be donated to St Petrocs. Refreshments will be served after the service. All are welcome

Fellowship evening - 19th October

In our new pattern, we will have a termly Trinity wide evening (the first of which was 21st September) and then in the months in between (excluding December and August) we will have a similar evening just for our congregation. Sharing fellowship and praying together will be vital as we look to the future. These evenings will take place on Wednesdays from 7-9pm and there will be some sort of provision to join from home. The evening will include: fellowship, dessert and refreshments, church news, prayer and praise. Please come join us. You can let us know that you are coming below (which would help with our catering).

Weekly Prayer Points

This week our prayer points have a Harvest theme:

1. Please give thanks for the support from Trussell Trust to Cornwall Foodbanks and pray for continued financial support for initiatives at the Truro Foodbank. We can continue to give thanks for their store and distribution centres and continue to pray for miraculous provision of a permanent and secure premises of their own. Pray for people using the foodbank to be pointed to the hope that is in Jesus.

2. Please pray for the serious droughts in East Africa and particularly the country of Somalia experiencing famine. Because of the political complexities in the country, aid distribution is difficult and slow and money/help doesn’t get to those in need. Please pray for relief from the famine and also for the light of Christ to come to Somalia.
