This Sunday - Wisdom in Speech

This week, all ages join together for our half-term All-Age Special. We will be continuing our series thinking about wisdom by thinking about being wise in the way we speak to one another. From the playground to the office, from our online messages to our conversation with friends - we all have much to learn about how we speak to others. This encouraging and practical morning is going to help us - refreshments, prayer, activities and more. Do join us as we grow in wisdom together.

Prayer is always available after the service, do ask other church members or speak to the service leader. Christ Church Truro meets at 9:30am in Archbishop Benson School TR1 1BN. Free parking available.

Next Week - Christ Church Prayer

Next Thursday, at 7:30pm, we will be meeting to hear news about the life of our church and to pray for our church. We will especially be hearing about the development plans we have for Christ Church and committing them to our Lord. We will also be hearing information about the Church of England as well as looking further afield.

At Christ Church we are convinced that the life of our church needs to be underpinned by prayer. These evenings are informative as well as encouraging. Alan and Jean Stanhope are hosting us once again and their address can be found in ChurchSuite. Refreshments served at the beginning.

EQUIP Returns

Following our break for half term and our Trinity Prayer Meeting next week, EQUIP will be back - Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd March.

In EQUIP at the moment we are in thinking about the church and asking how the shape of the church should shape our lives. In our next session we are going to be thinking about out place in the church. How do we all fit in and how might we be equipped to play our part? This session is foundational for our understanding of the life of our church.

Next Week - Launch Celebration

In 35 other dioceses there are fellowships of evangelicals which aim to provide mutual encouragement and a place for dialogue amongst evangelicals in the Church of England. Although there may have been a Truro Diocesan Evangelical Fellowship (TDEF) in the past, this had lapsed.

In September 2022 a small group met to relaunch this and planned for a launch event of worship prayer and information. This is planned for Saturday 25th February, 7pm at Holy Trinity St Austell. It is for all church members.

All Diocesan Evangelical Fellowships work together with The Church of England Evangelical Council, a national group which represents evangelicals from across the whole Church of England. For this launch event we are being joined by Rev'd John Dunnett who is the National Director of Strategy and Operations at the Church of England Evangelical Council. With much going on in the Church of England, he will help us think about how we might move forward.

This feels like a priority event at the moment as we come together to praise God and pray with others. If you possibly can, do be there.

Following the General Synod meeting last week, Marc and Hugh (our Ministers at St Kea) write to our church family.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Give thanks for our current teaching series on wisdom. As we explore biblical wisdom, pray that we might really learn what it is to live in that wisdom. Pray especially for our church family this week as we think about what it means for us to be wise in the way we speak.

2. Give thanks for the life of St Allen as they meet together in their church family week by week. Give thanks that they are part of the Trinity team and pray for them as they consider forming a Leadership Team for their church family.

3. We are so grateful for the work of Foodbank Truro in helping those in crisis need. Give thanks for all those from our church family who make this ministry possible. Pray for the film evening on the 21st March as the Foodbank seek to raise funds for their work.
