This Sunday - All-Age Harvest

This Sunday we will be celebrating Harvest together in our All-Age service. This is a shorter service than usual with interactive activities for all ages, music, prayers and more. It is a great service to invite friends or family to. We will especially be thinking about those who don’t have food this harvest time and how Jesus offers us real hope.

In the service there will be an opportunity for us to bring gifts to give to Truro Foodbank, one of our Mission Partners. At the moment Truro Foodbank are particularly in need of: tins of fruit, tins of meat, 500g or 1kg packets of rice, instant coffee, laundry liquid/powder, washing-up liquid. Donations of any other non-perishable food & household items (which can be stored easily) are welcome. There will be an opportunity to bring these to the front near the start of our service.

Refreshments are being served before and after our Sunday morning service as usual, so do join us and catch up with friends old and new. Prayer after the service will be available.

EQUIP - Continues This Week

This week in our Small Groups we are looking at the resurrection of Jesus- how can we be sure it happened, how might we explain the evidence when people ask us and what difference does it make anyway?

According to the Apostle Paul, Christianity hinged on the resurrection - if it did not happen we may as well pack up and go home. Join us this week, as we find out why. Women’s Breakfast Saturday 15th October

At times, the circumstances of life leave us feeling shaken to the core; life can be uncertain and those around us sometimes hurt us the most. Whether you are currently in circumstances that build you up, or battling those that threaten to knock you over, you are very welcome at our Women’s Breakfasts. This month, we are looking at Psalm 62 and seeing how the writer found rest and refuge in God when he was threatened and vulnerable. Through our time together, we will be encouraging each other to find that same rest for our souls.

All dietary requirements catered for, please make a note when booking. We hope to be welcoming women from across Trinity Church Truro and it will be a great opportunity to meet our sisters in Christ from across the city.

Save the Dates

Thursday 27th October at 7:30pm, our next Christ Church prayer meeting. This will be a chance to gather together to pray for the life of our church family. This is hosted at Alan and Jean Stanhope’s home.

Monday 31st October at 5pm, our Light Party in Archbishop Benson School for children of all ages.

Old Kea Feast - Sunday 16th October 3:30pm

There will be a Holy Communion service and the church will be decorated especially for harvest. Any harvest gifts received will be donated to St Petrocs. Refreshments will be served after the service. All are welcome

South West Awake - Friday 14th October

Join Christians across the South West as they gather around fires on beaches and unite together in prayer. Some of us will, God willing, be on Porthtowan beach, but you can join in wherever convenient.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Please give thanks for the support from Trussell Trust to Cornwall Foodbanks and pray for continued financial support for initiatives at the Truro Foodbank. We can continue to give thanks for their store and distribution centres and continue to pray for miraculous provision of a permanent and secure premises of their own. Pray for people using the foodbank to be pointed to the hope that is in Jesus.

2. Please pray for the serious droughts in East Africa and particularly the country of Somalia experiencing famine. Because of the political complexities in the country, aid distribution is difficult and slow and money/help doesn’t get to those in need. Please pray for relief from the famine and also for the light of Christ to come to Somalia.
