Christmas is a great time to bring people along to church to join in our celebrations. We hope we have an event or activity for everyone. Each of our events are packed with the ‘festive spirit’, including: the classic carols; a clear and relevant message of Christmas hope; Christmas refreshments and much more. Each event is designed specifically with people who are new to church in mind.

Now is the time to be thinking about who you are going to bring. Start by praying for them and then simply ask if they want to come along with you. We want many people to be able to share the joy of the message of Christmas this year and the good news is that research suggests many people are just waiting to be asked.

Our Christmas starts with a classic carol service on Sunday the 15th December. There is going to be a live orchestra, a Christmas choir, traditional readings, mince pies and mulled-wine refreshments.

But here is the twist… you and your friends could be the choir. All abilities are welcome, no weeks of endless rehearsals, just bring your friends along at 2pm on the day and join the scratch choir. Rehearse that afternoon under expert guidance and just a couple of hours later (after a break for tea) perform in our carol service. It is going to lots of fun. And why not invite friends and family who can’t, or won’t, join the choir to come along at 6pm to join the congregation and watch the choir perform.

If you have friends with younger children maybe you want to bring them to our All-Age Carol Service the weekend before Christmas. They are welcome to dress up and join in our scratch nativity. We will sing classic carols and modern Christmas songs which children learn in school. Refreshments will be served at the end of the All-Age service, or you might like to take friends into Truro for some last minute shopping or a Christmas hot chocolate at the Truro Market.

If contemporary carols in the pub is more your thing, why not bring them to our Christmas Carols at the Old Ale House? We had such fun last year with our amazing band, singing together with friends and hearing the Christmas message. In fact this was so popular last year that we are doing it twice this year - at 5pm and at 7pm. Book your friends a free ticket over the next couple of weeks and bring them along. It is a great opportunity to introduce the difference Jesus makes in our lives.

Finally, our Christmas Celebrations reach their climax on Christmas Day itself with our all-age extravaganza. We will be meeting on Christmas morning in the Moresk centre to wish one another happy Christmas and join in our All-Age Service together. It is the perfect way to start Christmas Day. If you have family or friends staying with you on Christmas Day they are really welcome to come and celebrate with us.

Of course we know that for some people Christmas Day and Christmas Lunch can be difficult or challenging. That is why once again this year we are working with The Dockyard to provide a free community Christmas Lunch in the Moresk Centre. For more information see the flier below in this email.

At all our Christmas Events we will be introducing a new activity starting in the new year - Meals with a Message. These sessions are a chance to bring people together on a Sunday afternoon, over food, to explore the Christian faith. The initial sessions start on the 19th January and will be designed for both adults and those who bring children along. If over Christmas people want to know more about following Jesus or just have questions, then Meals with a Message is the perfect place to bring them.
