This Sunday - Global Hostility

Please do join us this coming Sunday as we celebrate the work of God in our lives. We will be returning to Acts 4 to look at the content of Peter and John’s message and how it highlights the gracious salvation found in Jesus.

Children’s groups will continue and refreshments will be served both before and after the service. Prayer ministry will also available after the service; do ask other church members or speak to the service leader.

Equip Building To Conclusion

This Week we come to the final session in Colossians as we consider what it means to be disciples of Jesus. We’ve thought about: the freedom the Gospel brings; the focus it gives our lives and the action it demands. Next week we are thinking about our Gospel attitude.

Next Week we have our final Small Group week of the term (week beginning 9th July). This session is a special session, quite unlike the others, and everyone will have the opportunity to share their hopes and desires for living for Christ for the year or years ahead.

Finally, do also make sure that our evening on the 20th July is in your diary - our evening of commitment and praise. This is the finale of EQUIP. We will be gathering at St Kea Church for a BBQ at 5:30pm. At 6:30pm we will join together in a time of praise and thanksgiving led by a wonderful band from both congregations. As part of that time, we will each have the opportunity to share how we want to offer our lives in the service of God. (There will be informal provision for the children.)

Baptisms and Affirmations

We are really excited to be holding our Baptism and Affirmation service at Debs and Tim Stanhope’s House on Sunday 23rd July.

The service will start at the usual time of 9.30 outside in the garden. Some chairs will be available but if you have a camping chair please bring it along. We will be baptising some of our church members in the pool and celebrating together. There will be worship and teaching as well. It will be the last week our children will be meeting together before their summer break so they will be having an end of year party in their groups.

Afterwards, everyone is invited to a bring and share lunch in the garden as well as a swim in the pool. There will be a sign-up sheet in church for the next few weeks so please say if you are able to bring a sweet or savory dish to share.

CC Prayer Meeting - 27th July

Save the date - the next Christ Church Prayer Meeting is happening on Thursday 27th July 7:30pm at Alan and Jean Stanhope’s home. More information to follow nearer the time.

Accommodation Needed

St Kea and Christ Church have been a placement church for several South West Youth Ministry interns over the years. This has been a great blessing to our church family and also to the interns themselves, as they sacrificially set aside time to train for youth ministry.

We are delighted to have an opportunity to see an intern placed with us again this year. The next stage in the process is to try and find a potential host for all (or part) of the year from September to July. If you have a spare room or annexe and might be able to help then please do get in touch for further details/to explore the possibility. No commitment is required at this stage. Next Womens Breakfast - 15th July

The next Women’s Breakfast with our friends across the Trinity Churches is on Saturday 15th July at 8.30-10am. This will be a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a lovely breakfast while reflecting on great Bible truths together. We are continuing our series on ‘Jesus through the Eyes of the Women who met him’ and at this session will look at Jesus the Healer. Newcomers are particularly welcome – so please do use the sign-up link below to book a place if you can join us! 

Youth Slip and Slide - This Sunday

Many of you will have seen the advertising for the Slip and Slide on the Killiow Estate, and maybe even a glimpse of the equipment as they set it up ahead of opening on the 1st July. We are co-ordinating a trip on Sunday 9th July but booking is direct with the company. Please note that this is a time slot open to the public and that all children of any age need to be accompanied by an adult.

SPREE weekend away

Sam Payne, our part time youth worker writes: It was an absolute joy being able to take 20 young people, from 3 congregations to Spree this year. It was an action-packed weekend in the sunshine, with so much to do from Axe Throwing to Spree's Got Talent, Crafts to Fairground rides. The young people had a huge amount of fun, but more importantly were able to learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus. It was amazing to see just how well they engaged in the main sessions, as they considered the joys and cost of following Jesus. One highlight for me, was seeing how well the young people interacted with each other, supporting and encouraging one another and enjoying each others company... We are already looking forward to going again next year! 

Stakeholders Consultation - This Friday

We are thankful for those who came on the 10th June to our first Trinity Youth ‘stakeholders’ meeting. Following on from this, we are inviting feedback from parents and young people. The form for this can be accessed here and we’d be grateful for your responses as we plan and build teams for the future. Our second stakeholder meeting is this Friday 7th July in the Lychgate at Kenwyn Church. You can sign up to attend below.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. This week we pray for Marc, Sheryl and the boys as they have time away. We ask for this family time together to be blessed with happiness and joy and that they will return refreshed and rested.

2. We thank God for Andy Boorne who has recently been ordained and will now be starting his curacy. We pray that Andy will receive strength and encouragement through his work.

3. We praise God for Truro Foodbank and the Foodbank Cafe that happens each Friday morning. We pray for people in our community and beyond who are facing unemployment, ill-health, isolation or money worries at this time, And especially for those who are unable to afford enough to eat. We pray for supportive relationships, practical provision and real hope.
