Remembrance Sunday

This Sunday is Remembrance Sunday when we stop for a moment to reflect on all those who have given so much in the service of our country. Join us as we pay our tribute of thanks and see how many kind acts of service point us to the ultimate servant of all - Jesus, our saviour.  These services are suitable for all ages with activities, prayers and an interactive talk open to all. Do invite others who might like to join us as we commemorate together.

There will be refreshments served both before and after the service.

Struggles in Prayer

This is week two in the School of Prayer. Prayer is a wonderful gift that is given to the church to enable us to live and grow as disciples of Jesus. Each week, in this part of ENABLE, we are looking at different prayers and teaching about prayer in the New Testament. We will also be reflecting on our own patterns and life of prayer.

Last week we started by thinking about the framework for prayer. We were encouraged to cherish the things that are of eternal significance - to give thanks to God for those things in one another and to pray eternal things for one another. As wonderful as that may have sounded, we all know that, in practice, we struggle with the reality. There are many different reasons why we find it hard to pray. So, this week, we are going to explore why many of us find we spend little time in prayer.

Prayer Evening - Thursday 16th November

Next week we wont be meeting in our small groups but instead we will be coming together to prayer for our Church.

We will be meeting at 7.30pm at Jean and Alan Stanhope’s home (details can be found on Churchsuite), so please do join us for this important part of church life.

Leadership meeting update

Neil Bridle from the Christ Church leadership team writes…

At our leadership team meeting on the 16th October topics arose which we are sure you will recognise. Firstly, the accommodation at Archbishop Benson is now less than ideal. Whilst the main Service area is more compact, it does have capacity for our current needs although with limited scope for growth. Sunday club is our immediate concern with reduced separate spaces to run three groups. Noise from the Sunday club and vice versa has proven to be a problem. Recognising the disruptive consequences of moving home, we discussed alternative suitable (accessible) accommodation (thoughts/ideas please). This has inevitably caused us to reflect once more on our vision for a permanent home in the centre of Truro, serving the community, offering contemporary worship/bible teaching.

Again, we also talked about Pastoral Care, developing a Pastoral Care strategy. As a Leadership Team we seek to understand current issues/needs but at the same time recognise the responsibility the church family is already taking to support and care for one another.

CAP and Lanterns Christmas Appeal

As our minds turn towards the festive season, this week we are launching our CAP and Lanterns Christmas Appeal.

For many just the thought of Christmas can be completely overwhelming – we’ve seen this first hand. Can we unite together again this Christmas to bring joy and to show God’s love in action to those in need.

We would be enormously grateful if you would consider donating either:

Women’s Breakfast

Next Saturday (18th November) will be the last Trinity Women’s Breakfast of the year, where we will be continuing to think about the women who met Jesus, and how their perspectives help us see Him afresh. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy time chatting with other women, meet others from across our congregations and be encouraged together from God’s Word. All women very welcome, and all dietary requirements can be catered for, so please do join us at 8.30-10am for a delicious breakfast at St Kea Church.

Wreath Making Evening

St Kea is hosting a Trinity Church wreath-making evening which is designed to bring guests to. This relaxed and enjoyable event will include a wreath-making demonstration, time to create your own beautiful wreath, and a short interview with a Christian about what Christmas means to them. Mulled wine and nibbles will be served, and materials to make the wreaths will be provided. Tickets are £15 and can be bought on the church website or by clicking the button below. Numbers are limited, so do book early to secure places for you to bring guests!

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Please pray for the Remembrance services which will be happening this Sunday across Trinity. We ask you Lord that any visitors coming to our churches feel welcome and have open hearts to hear the message of the service.

2. This week let us pray for the wonderful work that Mercy Rescue do in supporting abandoned children, giving them what they need to have a brighter future. Pray particularly for their cottage on site which is in need of urgent repairs. Without this cottage they aren’t able to rescue as many babies if they don’t have safe accommodation for them.

3. Father God we thank you for the congregation of St Clement Church and their vicar Reverend Di Willoughby. We pray for their church as they begin advent next week and the lead up to Christmas.
