Palm Sunday All Age service

Please do join us this Sunday as we begin thinking about the Easter story. We’ll be gathering as all ages together in the service to think about Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. Refreshments will be served both before and after the service, a livestream will be offered and prayer ministry will be available. Our groups for children and young people resume on 23rd April.

Open the Book team give Easter gifts

Yesterday the St Kea Open the Book team gave Real Easter Eggs to all of the year 6 pupils at Kea School. These eggs contain a booklet explaining the Easter story. As before, we are asking St Kea Church family if they would like to donate towards this cost and we’d be very grateful for any donations on the link below.

Easter week at St Kea

There are plans for a range of events to help us reflect, celebrate and reach out this Easter. The first event after Palm Sunday is a Maundy Thursday Meal (see below for details and sign up by Monday 3rd April). After that join us for an All Age Good Friday service at 10.30am, then the 2pm Good Friday Service of Reflection will lead into a prayer event that runs into Easter Saturday (sign up for one of the remaining slots via email using the button below). On Easter Sunday morning there will be an 8.30am BCP Communion at Old Kea and a 10.30am All Age Communion service at St Kea church.

Good Friday 24 hr prayer event

The last prayer event was a hugely encouraging time and many people found that their hour flew by. There are still some prayer slots available on both Good Friday and Easter Saturday, if you’d like to join in then let us know by email using the button below.

LICF events in Trelander - can you help?

Sam and Erica Payne are looking for volunteers to help with both regular and one-off events serving the Trelander and Malpas areas in Truro. If you are interested and would like to find out more then please contact Sam via Churchsuite. The first of these events is a Family Fun event from 11-2 on the 8th April at the Community Centre and volunteers are need.

Ben Stone in Malawi

As many of you will be aware, one of the longest-lived storms ever recorded in the Southern Hemisphere has caused widespread devastation in Malawi, Madagascar and Mozambique. Ben Stone is currently in Southern Malawi on a gap year project and has been involved in relief efforts providing food and shelter. He has been fundraising for this (as Lucy Larkin mentioned on Sunday). To find out more and to donate, click the image above.

Praise & Worship Evening

This Friday evening there is an opportunity to engage in an extended time of sung worship. Come along from 7pm for a hot drink ready for a 7:30pm start, the evening will be brought to a close by 9pm.

‘Word Alive’ livestream

APCM - Electoral Roll Applications

Our APCM is to be held on Wednesday 26th April at 7.30pm. If you are part of St Kea and have not yet completed an Electoral Roll form it would be great if you could do so asap. Closing date for applications for this year is 2nd April. The form can be found on our website using the link below.

Andy Boorne Commissioning - 30th April

The Rural Dean (and our oversight minister) Rev’d Marc Baker and Kenwyn Church invites you to a service of Prayer and Praise for the Commissioning of Andy Boorne as their Local Minister on the 30th April at 11am at Kenwyn Church. The service will be non-Eucharistic and be followed by a time of fellowship with refreshments and pasties.

Weekly Prayer Points

This week’s prayer points:

1. Please pray for Malawi, Madagascar and Mozambique as people recover from the effects of the cyclone. Please pray for those grieving and those who have been made homeless, and those whose livelihoods have been destroyed, that they might find hope and comfort in Jesus.

2. Give thanks for our Christ Church congregation, for opportunities to reach out over Easter and for the Family Fun event on Easter Saturday which they are helping to run at the Trelander and St Clement Community Hall.

3. Please pray for Truro Foodbank. Since 1st January they report 19 tonnes in, but over 26 tonnes out and they have just 4 tonnes in stock.
