This Sunday - At All Times

Join us this Sunday for the penultimate instalment of ‘Never Ashamed’, our current series. As we come to the end of our series, we are going to be drawing together the implications of 2 Timothy. This week, we ask the crucial question, “How can our church stay on track and not be led astray?” This is a crucial question because our salvation and the salvation of others depends on it. Full of practical relevant wisdom for our church, join us this Sunday if you possibly can.

There will be Sunday Club for all children as normal. Refreshments are being served before and after our Sunday morning service as usual. Prayer after the service will be available.

Christ Church Welcome Lunch

We love welcoming new people to our church family and from time to time we hold Welcome Lunches. This is a chance to get to know one another better and to talk a little about our vision for Christ Church, including what being a member at Christ Church involves.

Our next Welcome Lunch is this Sunday. All newcomers should have been invited, but if you are new to our church and have not received an invitation do have a word with one of the leadership team. Also consider who you might invite to join our church family as we live for Jesus together.

This Monday - Halloween Event

Join us, this Monday, as we join all ages together for our party to celebrate the light of Jesus Christ. This special event is at Archbishop Benson School (31st October) starting at 4:30pm.

There will be party games, food for children, an amazing party disco and much more. We hope to invite lots of people from the school and local community. We hope you can join us and we hope you will invite your friends as well.

Service of Remembering - This Sunday

As in previous years, near the time of All Hallows Eve, our bereavement support ministry (Living with Loss) are inviting people to a service of remembering. This is a special service for people to come and remember loved ones. There will be a book of remembrance for people to sign and a list of names will also be read out. Whether or not you can make it to the service, you can submit a name by email using the link below.

EQUIP - Back This Week

Following our half term break, EQUIP is back this week. Having spent the first half of the term thinking about what the gospel is - and seeing the profound implications it has for our lives - this new half term we are thinking about what a Christian is. That sounds like a simple question, but seeing the simple things clearly has the deepest impact. To help us answer this question we will be looking at the foundational book of Romans.

CAP Christmas Appeal

We are so excited to launch our Christians Against Poverty Christmas Appeal. Each year, we are able to bless our clients at Christmas and it is a wonderful blessing to be able to support many in need in this way. Would you be kind enough to join us again this year by donating a Super Market voucher, Argos voucher, or a Christmas hamper? (Sorry we are unable to accept cash or cheques). The donations will also go towards our wonderful Christmas party for clients.

The closing date is 1st December to give us enough time to distribute hampers in the first week of December. With the cost of living crisis, your donations would be hugely appreciated. One mum recently said, “It was an enormous help last year.” Voucher and hamper donations can either be handed into the Church Office at St Kea or to Natalie or Liz Baird at Christ Church.

Dockyard Evening - Ticket Deadline

Sam and Erica Payne from Christ Church are launching a new initiative called The Dockyard Collective - creating safe spaces for people to rebuild in tough times. They are hosting a evening on the 11th November to raise money for a small pilot project in Truro this autumn. Tickets are limited so please book by 31st October to avoid missing out. Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Please pray for the Halloween events happening at St Kea and Christ Church this coming Monday. Pray that they will be well attended and that the message of Jesus being the true light of the world will be clearly taught.

2. Please pray for Kenwyn Church and particularly for Andy Boorne as he settles in to his new role serving the church family. Pray that God would make clear which opportunities within the community they should concentrate on.

3. Please pray for the Wallace family and for Richard’s trip to El Salvador in November. Pray also that for appointment on November 9 at the US Embassy in London for a US visa.
