All Age Service - Father’s Day

This Sunday, we’re taking time to appreciate the fathers and the father figures in our lives. As we continue our All Age series in the Psalms, we will be giving thanks for ways in which fathers have shown us love and care as well as lifting our Heavenly Father’s enduring love and care for all of us, regardless of our own experiences. This Sunday might be a good opportuinity to invite friends and family along. 

Come from 10.15am for refreshments, prayer ministry will be available after the service.

Friendship & Creative Rest

The story so far... we have thought about the four central, God-given, enablers: the Holy Spirit, God’s word, prayer and one another (the church). They summarise the heart of how God is working in the world... God transforms us and enables us for his mission as we prayerfully proclaim God’s word, in the power of the Spirit, to one another.

This is where the weight of the Bible is - so it has been the focus of ENABLE so far. But in the Bible we see that there are other gifts that God gives us to enable us as disciples. These are gifts that we often neglect, especially when we are busy with demanding work roles and the demands of raising children. We have been encouraged, these last few weeks, to consider if we are getting suitable levels of sleep and what it looks like to practice a Sabbath principle.

What next... this week we are thinking about two important enablers - friendship and creativity. Then, the following week, we will be gathering as a whole church to pray together for the future of our church - 7pm at St John’s (see below for more details). Before we do that,

Trinity Evening - 19th June - St John’s Church

Next Wednesday instead of meeting in our small groups we will be meeting together for an evening of updates from each of the Trinity congregations, hearing stories of encouragement and praying for each Church. This term we will be meeting at St John’s Church in Truro from 7pm for refreshments, with the evening formally starting at 7.30pm.

It is a wonderful evening to come together as Trinity Church - we look forward to seeing you all then.

Each month we will be updating you on how your giving supports the work of our Church. This month we are looking at Trinity Youth.

Do join us this Saturday…

This Saturday will be the annual Kea School and Church Summer Fete from 12-3pm held on Kea School field. It is a wonderful opportunity to be part of the local community and to engage with the school families. Some of the money raised at the event is donated towards our mission partners so please do come along to support this fantastic event.

We are still looking for some volunteers who could spare half an hour or so to serve refreshments on the day. If you can help out please get in touch with Sian Goddard. If you are baking a cake for the refreshments tent please either leave in the church hall on Friday 14th June or bring along on the day. Many Thanks.

Favourite Hymns At Old Kea This Sunday

This Sunday at 3.30pm Rev Chris Parsons will be leading the ‘Favourite Hymns’ service at Old Kea. It’s a wonderful opportunity to sing together and enjoy this wonderful space, so do join us if you can.

Africa Inland Mission Cream Tea - 16th June

Many will have seen Iain and Becky Brunt interviewed on Sunday speaking about their plans to travel to Namibia for two weeks in August to explore the potential of long term mission with Africa Inland Mission in the future. They invite you to an afternoon cream tea fundraiser to tell you more about a trip in August and what might lie ahead.

Tuesday Night Youth - Summer Party

On Tuesday 18th June from 6-8pm our TNY group will be meeting to have an evening of fun and games at Kea Church. This event is also open to year 5 children as well as any others in yr6-10 who have not been to youth group before. It’s a great opportunity to try this group out, hope to see many new faces there. Trelander Summer Festival - N.B. new date

Sam Payne writes “Please not that we have changed the date of the summer festival to Saturday 31st August. We would love this to be a day that brings church and community together sharing, fun, food and fellowship together. We are still in need of quite a few volunteers to help on the day with a variety of roles - cooking lunch on the BBQ - tech - running activities - serving refreshments - building relationships - if you would like to be involved then please contact Sam by the 28th June. Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join in praying for:

1. Gracious God, we pray for our young people who are in the middle of exams and assessments. Keep them from anxiety and stress and give them peace to do the best they can.

2. Loving Father, we pray for the work of Truro Foodbank. We give thanks for the different initiatives which seek to alleviate food poverty in Cornwall. Please may there may be increasing local collaboration that encourages growers, suppliers and food crisis organisations to work together.

3. Sovereign Lord, we thank you for all that has been possible across our Trinity grouping so far and pray for various leadership teams as they meet together to plan for the future on the 24th June. Please would you provide wisdom and help us to serve you in whatever way would most bring you glory in across the Truro area.
