Prince of Peace

Join us as we start our Advent series on Jesus the coming King in the book of Isaiah. In these four weeks we will meet Isaiah’s Messiah: Prince of Peace, Prince of Judgement, Prince of Deliverance and Prince of Glory. This week we meet the Prince of Peace in one of the most beautiful Messianic passages of all time. The promised Prince is none other than God Himself, able to usher in a kingdom of everlasting peace. As we look forward to Christmas, will we also be looking forward to the coming of the Prince of Peace and living for Him? Join us as we find out more.

We will also be having Holy Communion during the service and children’s groups will continue. Refreshments will be service both before and after the service.

Christ Church Prayer - Tomorrow evening

This week instead of meeting in our small groups we will be meeting together to pray for our church.

At Christ Church, we are convinced that the life of our church needs to be underpinned by prayer, so do join us for this informative and encouraging evening.

We will be meeting at 7.30pm at Jean and Alan Stanhope’s home (details can be found on Churchsuite).

Women’s Breakfast - This Saturday

There is still time to sign up for the last Women’s Breakfast of the year this Saturday at 8.30- 10am at Kea Church. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy time chatting with other women, meet others from across our congregations and be encouraged together from God’s Word. All women very welcome, and all dietary requirements can be catered for.

Everything we do is funded by you – outreach opportunities

As a church we cannot thank you enough for all of your generosity and support to our church through your regular giving. We are thankful to God for this provision as it enables us to provide outreach opportunities, particularly in the Autumn term. Events such as the light party, youth firework evening, Lanterns Christmas party, carol services, CAP support for those in need, paying staff to help plan and organise all of our Christmas events, printing leaflets to share opportunities to find out more about the Gospel over Christmas, paying for heating and lighting to enable events to run; the list is endless.

As we look ahead to 2024 we are prayerful for the outreach opportunities we are planning as a church and would love to enable more growth opportunities in our local area.

We would love you to become a partner in this work by contributing financially if you can afford to.

Save the Date

We are really excited that Andy Fenton is travelling down in February and has offered to run a workshop for musicians and singers. This will be held at St Kea Church and is open to both those who already serve in leading our sung worship and those considering getting involved. Andy is a very experienced church musician and is involved in in teaching and practical training across the UK. Please do set aside the evening of 6th February from 7pm.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Sovereign Lord, we continue to pray for the brokeness in our world. As conflict and struggle touch so many lives around the world, we pray that Jesus the Prince of Peace would be known to people and be received with gladness. May those living in a land of deep darkness experience the light dawning.

2. Father God we bless all the volunteers who support the work of Truro Foodbank. Thank you for the dedication and compassion they show as they welcome and serve people experiencing acute poverty. Pray that God would strengthen them, protect them, energise them, and use them to impact lives with love, kindness, and compassion.

3. Gracious God we pray for Hugh Barne and the Congregation at St Kea Church as they begin to host many evangelistic events leading up to Christmas. We pray that the people attending these events have open hearts to hearing the gospel and are encouraged to find out more about the life of the church.
