Remembrance Sunday

This Sunday is Remembrance Sunday when we stop for a moment to reflect on all those who have given so much in the service of our country. Join us as we pay our tribute of thanks and see how many kind acts of service point us to the ultimate servant of all - Jesus, our saviour.  These services are suitable for all ages with activities, prayers and an interactive talk open to all. Do invite others who might like to join us as we commemorate together.

Refreshments will be served before and after the service and the livestream will begin at 10.30am.

Looking ahead, our next Eat Together Lunch is on the 26th November and sign up sheets will be at the back of church from this Sunday for people to sign up to host and be hosted..

Struggles in Prayer

This is week two in the School of Prayer. Prayer is a wonderful gift that is given to the church to enable us to live and grow as disciples of Jesus. Each week, in this part of ENABLE, we are looking at different prayers and teaching about prayer in the New Testament. We will also be reflecting on our own patterns and life of prayer.

Last week we started by thinking about the framework for prayer. We were encouraged to cherish the things that are of eternal significance - to give thanks to God for those things in one another and to pray eternal things for one another. As wonderful as that may have sounded, we all know that, in practice, we struggle with the reality. There are many different reasons why we find it hard to pray. So, this week, we are going to explore why many of us find we spend little time in prayer.

Fellowship Evening - Wednesday 15th Nov

After thinking about prayer in ENABLE this week, next week our ENABLE activity is joining together in prayer. This is the last fellowship evening of 2023 and we will be praying in our Ephesians series, praying for Christmas outreach, for mission partners and world events.

So we encourage you to join us on Wednesday evening at St Kea for an evening of Fellowship, Music and Prayer. Refreshments available from 7pm for enjoying time together and then the formal start of the meeting is at 7.30pm.

Women’s Breakfast

Next Saturday (18th November) will be the last Trinity Women’s Breakfast of the year, where we will be continuing to think about the women who met Jesus, and how their perspectives help us see Him afresh. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy time chatting with other women, meet others from across our congregations and be encouraged together from God’s Word. All women very welcome, and all dietary requirements can be catered for, so please do join us at 8.30-10am for a delicious breakfast at St Kea Church.

Wreath-making

To kickstart our Christmas celebrations this year, St Kea is hosting a Trinity Church wreath-making evening. Designed to bring guests to, this relaxed and enjoyable event will include a wreath-making demonstration, time to create your own beautiful wreath, and a short interview with a Christian about what Christmas means to them. Mulled wine and nibbles will be served, and materials to make the wreaths will be provided. Tickets are £15 and can be bought on the church website or by clicking the button below. Numbers are limited, so do book now to secure places for you and your guests!

Could you help with greenery?

Do you have any: Fir, Pine, Spruce, Cedar, Yew, Box, Privet, Bay, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Pittosporum, Euonymus, Laurel, Ivy, or other variegated leaves at home? Anything you can spare would be really helpful for the wreath-making event so that all guests can be provided with greenery to use. If you can help then please do get in touch with Heather, Grace or Hanna to discuss. Greenery can be dropped at church on Friday 24th November, or we can collect.

CAP and Lanterns Christmas Appeal

As our minds turn towards the festive season, this week we are launching our CAP and Lanterns Christmas Appeal.

For many just the thought of Christmas can be completely overwhelming – we’ve seen this first hand. Can we unite together again this Christmas to bring joy and to show God’s love in action to those in need.

We would be enormously grateful if you would consider donating either:

Supermarket Voucher, Argos Voucher or Christmas Hamper – Either individually or as a home group.

If you wish to pay by card please follow the payment link below, or scan the QR code that will be displayed on the screens at church where you can give to the CAP and Lanterns Appeal.

Christmas Choir

This year as part of our Christmas Carol service on Sunday 17th December at 6.30pm, Chris South will be forming an informal choir to lead our carols within the service.

So if you like singing and would like to be part of this group please come to church at 7.30pm on 1st, 8th, 15th December. No experience is needed and you do not need to be able to read music to be able to take part.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. We pray for the Remembrance services which will be happening this Sunday across Trinity. We ask you Lord that any visitors coming to our churches feel welcome and have open hearts to hear the message of the gospel.

2. We also pray for the wonderful work that Mercy Rescue do in supporting abandoned children, giving them what they need to have a brighter future. We pray particularly that the urgent repairs needed for their cottage on site can be undertaken soon.

3. Father God we thank you for the congregation of St Clement Church and their vicar Reverend Di Willoughby. We pray for their church as they begin advent next week and the lead up to Christmas, that they might continue to grow in their hunger to know Jesus more fully.
