This Sunday - New Series

As we prepare for the start of Advent next Sunday, we are excited to start our new series across Trinity Church.

The first Nine Lessons and Carols service took place in Truro at 10pm on Christmas Eve 1880 and, 142 years later, we are going to look at elements of these nine lessons and carols, focusing our attention on the wonderful opening verses of John’s gospel.

Because this series is intended to be available across Trinity Church, Marc will start the series this Sunday on a video which we will watch together. Refreshments are being served both before and after our Sunday morning service as usual. Sunday Club for all children also runs as usual and they too will be starting a new series in the build-up to Christmas.

This Sunday - Old Kea Service

There will be a service at Old Kea this Sunday, 20th November at 3:30pm, all welcome.

Next Thursday 7:30pm - Prayer Event

At Christ Church we want everything we do to be undergirded with prayer. We also know that there are many things we need to pray about as we seek to serve and impact our city for Christ. Join us for an encouraging evening of prayer on Thursday 24th November at 7:30pm. This event is being held at Alan and Jean’s home. Church Members can find details on ChurchSuite.

Note: There are no EQUIP small groups this week, as we gather together to pray.

Wreath Making Event - 10 Days Away

To kickstart our Christmas celebrations this year, we are holding an event for the whole of Trinity Church. Hosted at St Kea, our wreath-making evening is designed as another opportunity to invite guests. The evening will include a wreath-making demonstration, time to create your own beautiful wreath and a short interview with a Christian about what Christmas means to them.

Mulled wine and sweet and savoury canapes will be served and materials to make the wreaths will be provided. Tickets are £15 and can be bought on the church website (or via clicking the link below). Numbers are limited, so do book early to secure places for you and your friends.

Women’s Breakfast Saturday 3rd December

You are very welcome to join us for our final Women’s Breakfast of the year. Christmas can often trigger a wide range of emotions and so, right at the start of the festive season, we will take some time to reflect on the true hope of Christmas and discover in the Psalms what brings true “Joy to the World!”

Christmas Appeal - Urgent Help Needed

Natalie (our CAP centre manager) writes … I have just put the phone down to a client who was in floods of tears, not coping with the cost of living crisis, having just mashed potato for dinner, so her kids could eat. Also, having to walk because she does not have enough for fuel. All of this has impacted her mental health. During the conversation I mentioned Christmas - and in tears she said I can't even think about Christmas. X represents so many of our clients going without.

Please will you donate to our Christmas appeal so that we can make life a little easier this Christmas for X and other clients who are going through similar situations. Closing date is 1st December.

Ann Amos Thanksgiving

Many of you will have heard the news that Ann Amos died early last Sunday and has gone to be with the Lord. There will be a Thanksgiving Service for Ann at St Kea on Monday 28th November at 2:30pm.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and family that we can join together in praying for:

1. As we begin our Advent Series, pray that God would open the hearts and ears of any visitors. Pray that we will be a welcoming church.

2. Pray this week for Truro Foodbank as they continue to serve so many in desperate need. Pray for generous donations to continue throughout this difficult time.

3. Pray for St Allen as they continue to look for the right person to be appointed as a minister and that they would be supported at this time. Marc (our minister) is speaking at St Allen this Sunday.
