This Sunday - Wisdom’s Call

This Sunday, we continue thinking about wisdom and how to be wise. Each of us are making decisions all day, every day. In each of those decisions wisdom and folly call out to us. So, this week, as we move into chapter nine of Proverbs, we are going to ask how we can be equipped to walk ‘the way of wisdom’?

This week, our Sunday Club series also continues as we think about Jesus the King and His Kingdom. There will be refreshments before and after the service, so do catch up with folk as well as get to know others more. Prayer is always available after the service, do ask other church members or speak to the service leader. People are always available who would love to pray with you.

This Saturday - Trinity Women’s Breakfast

EQUIP Small Groups This Week

This week in our EQUIP small groups we are thinking about the church - what is the church? Wonderfully, we have been given a vision of the church as it really is, not divided and facing decline - but, gloriously, a new humanity gathered around Jesus in the heavenlies. It was a wonderful vison. But that leave us with the question, how can I be a part of this church, how do I know if I really belong and what causes church growth?

This week, join us in our EQUIP groups as we encourage one another to be the church God longs for us to be. All the resources for EQUIP are available on the church website. If you would like to join an EQUIP group do speak with Marc Baker (our church leader).

Bringing Evangelicals Together

In 35 other dioceses there are fellowships of evangelicals which aim to provide mutual encouragement and a place for dialogue amongst evangelicals in the Church of England. Although there may have been a Truro Diocesan Evangelical Fellowship (TDEF) in the past, this had lapsed.

In September 2021 a small group met to relaunch this and planned for a launch event of worship prayer and information. This is planned for Saturday 25th February, 7pm at Holy Trinity St Austell. It is for all church members who might be interested to attend.

All Diocesan Evangelical Fellowships work together with The Church of England Evangelical Council, a national group which represents evangelicals from across the whole Church of England. For this launch event we are being joined by Rev'd John Dunnett who is the National Director of Strategy and Operations at the Church of England Evangelical Council. With much going on in the Church of England, he will help us think about how we might move forward. It looks to be an encouraging evening of fellowship and it would be great to have many of us from Christ Church come along.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Please pray for the launch of the Truro Diocesan Evangelical Fellowship.

2. Give thanks for the church family at Kenwyn and for the ways in which they serve their local community. Pray that they continue to grow in their love for Jesus and service of him.

3. Please pray for our mission partners the Wallace Family as they plan for the 2023 Divine Expedition in Cuba in February and the launch in Sierra Leone in April.
