This Sunday - Coronation Celebration

Join us this week for our special All-Age Service to celebrate the coronation of King Charles and conclude our series ‘Meet the King’. In this coronation celebration we will be praying for our new King and we have special coronation activities for all ages.

One of the most beautiful things about kings is the way they serve their subjects, this is the heart of Jesus’ rule. Jesus the King of Heaven came to serve us. So join us for our Coronation Celebrations as we meet again with our servant King.

Refreshments are served both before and after the service and prayer is always available after the service; do ask other church members or speak to the service leader. Sunday Club resumes next week.

EQUIP This Week

Our EQUIP groups meet again this week as we continue with the next session in our series thinking about God’s word. Last week we thought about how we understand God’s word for ourselves. So far we have thought about the authority of God’s word and how we can understand God’s word for ourselves. This week we are going to think about the sufficiency of God’s word.

If you are not part of an EQUIP small group and would like to join, do contact our church leader Marc using the email link below. All the material for our sessions is also available on the EQUIP section of the church website, click the link below. There you can also find the timetable for our midweek activities at Christ Church over the next few months.

Sundays at 9am - Prayer

At Christ Church we want everything we do to be underpinned by prayer. We are dependant on God for the life and work of our church. Each month we meet midweek to pray together as a church family, but we also do that every Sunday at 9am and you are welcome to join in. For 15 minutes we pray for the service, the midweek groups, individuals in the church family and other things. Then we head for coffee before the service starts at 9:30am. This meeting takes place in the School Library and you are very welcome to join in if ever you are free.

Christ Church Baptism This Term

When someone comes and places their trust in Jesus and decides to follow Him, it is the most wonderful thing in all the world. The next most natural thing is for them to be baptised. Baptism symbolises that they are now living a new life following Jesus and they are now part of Jesus’ family.

We hope to be holding a baptism service later this summer term. If you or someone in your family has committed to following Jesus recently and they would like to be baptised, do talk with Marc our church leader. This is for everyone, including any children and teenagers who have recently decided to follow Jesus as well as for adults.

Next Sunday - New Series

Next Sunday we launch our new series for the summer term - Global Church. We are going to the book of Acts and looking at what we can learn from the first Christians. We are going to see that those Christians took the gospel from Jerusalem, out to the very ends of the earth. This is the birth of the global church. Do pray for all those who are planning for this new series and why not take time to read through Acts for yourself over the next few weeks.

Wallace Wanderings

Our Gospel Partners Richard and Riekje Wallace have been to Sierra Leone and they wanted to share a few thoughts about their preparation, travels and training they have been doing. Click on the link below to find out more information about this important work.

Andy Boorne’s Commissioning

It was great to see members from Trinity congregations and from of the wider Christian community in Truro gather together on Sunday in Kenwyn church to see Andy commissioned as Kenwyn’s Local Minister, by Marc as the Rural Dean. It was also good to see the links with those whom God has used there in the past; the service was led by Rev Bob Humphreys and was attended by the previous vicar Chris Parsons and also Julie (the daughter of another previous vicar). Please pray for Kenwyn, that God will continue to bless them with his Holy Spirit both in their individual lives and as a community as they reach out, for His name’s sake, to their part of Truro.

Sea Shanty Evening - Mercy Rescue Trust

A huge thank you to all who contributed to the success of the Sea Shanty Evening. A wonderful amount of £1,490 was given, which will make a huge difference to the trust who have additional expenditure due to caring for several babies needing ongoing medical treatment.

If you were unable to attend the Sea Shanty evening but would still like to donate please follow the link below. If you would like to be a regular supporter please go to the Mercy Rescue Trust website and follow the link.

1. We pray for for our King and Queen Consort at this time of coronation and as they continue their life of public service. As we conclude our coronation sermon series, may we reflect on the life and calling of Jesus, the Servant King

2. We give thanks for St Clements and continue to pray for their ministry of reaching out to their local community.

3. Please pray for the work of the Wallace family as they return from Sierra Leon and make plans for their return later in the year. We thank God for their service in spreading the gospel to other communities and their support for Pastor Philip.
