New Series this Sunday - Meet Your King

In the run up to coronation weekend we will be considering what the Bible has to say about the eternal king Jesus and how good it is to know His rule. We have two Sundays considering the Old Testament background to this and just how clearly it points to Jesus as the eternal king.

Refreshments will be served both before and after the service. Please do consider staying after the service to join us for lunch (see below). Our groups for children and young people resume and a livestream will be broadcast.

This Sunday - Soup & Bread Lunch

Do join us after the service this Sunday, as part of our monthly ‘eat together’ events as we share lunch together. No need to sign up in advance. Soup, bread and cheese will be served. If you would like to bring some cake then that would be greatly appreciated (see below for upcoming baking needs). Everyone welcome and all dietary requirements will be catered for.

We would love some cakes to serve after the Soup & Bread Lunch on Sunday and also to serve before the APCM next Wednesday 26th April. On Friday 28th April there is a Sea Shanty event to support Mercy Rescue and Maggie Heddon is looking for volunteers to make a cake for this event as well.

APCM - Wednesday 26th April

Join us for the APCM at St Kea on Wednesday 26th April, 7pm for coffee and cake before the meeting starts at 7:30pm. Our church activities are structured around five E’s. The APCM will be a great chance to hear what’s being going on over the past year and to look ahead as we seek to be Engaged with the world all around us, and committed to Evangelism as we share the good news of Jesus with those who do not know him yet. We want to see all Christians Established in their faith, growing deeper as they seek to live for Jesus and Equipped for the unique life God calls them to live. We are so thankful for all that has Enabled ministry over 2022 and want to remain humbly dependant on our Gracious God for the future.

As you read them, you will see many of things God has been doing through the different members of our church, we are so thankful to each person who has served our church family over 2022.

At our APCM we will be holding our elections for the PCC and Deanery Synod. Nomination forms for the PCC, Deanery Synod and for the position of Church Warden are available by clicking the link below. Do pray for those who are thinking about standing.

Andy Boorne Commissioning - 30th April

The Rural Dean (and our oversight minister) Rev’d Marc Baker and Kenwyn Church invites you to a service of Prayer and Praise for the Commissioning of Andy Boorne as their Local Minister on the 30th April at 11am at Kenwyn Church. The service will be non-Eucharistic and be followed by a time of fellowship with refreshments and pasties.

Weekly Prayer Points

1. This week we pray for the work of Compassion UK, one of our mission partners, who seek to be Christ Centred, Church Based and Child Focused as they work across 25 different countries. Compassion are asking their supporters to pray for food insecurity at the moment. In the last two years, the number of people facing severe food insecurity has doubled and now, globally, one in 10 people are going to bed hungry each night. The suggest praying for God’s comfort, and end to the conflicts worsening the crisis and for Christians to shine brightly as they seek to meek urgent needs.

2. Give thanks for St John’s, for all the opportunities they had as a church over Easter, at services and Messy Church, and for the recent Lent course. Please pray for the continued growth of ministry to the people of Truro.

3. Please pray for our APCM next Wednesday, for us to have thankful hearts as we remember God’s faithfulness to us and humble hearts as we commit our plans to Him.
