St Kea Church

Gospel Partnership - This Week

This Sunday is Gospel Partnership Sunday at St Kea, where we focus on our partnerships with Christians from across the world. This year, we are excited to welcome Roger Dell'Erba from Open Doors, an organisation dedicated to supporting persecuted Christians worldwide. The suffering of Christians around the world is real and significant. This week, we will be reflecting on how we can learn from the stories of the suffering church and how we can support them amid suffering.

This work resonates deeply with the themes we have been exploring in our journey through 1 Peter—what it means to follow Jesus in a world where we don’t belong, and how to trust God in the face of suffering and opposition. As we hear about the realities faced by Christians in some of the most challenging places in the world, we will also take time to reflect on how their stories help us as we face much lower levels of opposition here in the United Kingdom.

How does Peter’s call to perseverance, faith, and hope shape the way we support our persecuted brothers and sisters? And what does it mean for our own lives as we seek to live faithfully for Christ today?

Join us for this special Sunday as we draw together the key themes of our series and hear how God is at work through Open Doors, as we seek to stand firm together in the true grace of God.

Refreshments will be served both before and after our gathering and children’s groups will continue. There are plenty of transport options to get you to our new home and parking nearby. For more information about parking and transport, visit our ChristChurch website and click on the map on the front page.

Everyday Church

This week’s Engage session is a little different. Having worked our way through 1 Peter ‘verse by verse’, we are going to stand back and review some of our discoveries.

For the first part of this weeks session we will be reminding ourselves of three themes from 1 Peter: (1) our new identity, (2) our mission (3) the reality of suffering and how the church should respond. Then we will reflect on how these theme might shape the way we Engage with the world.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join in praying for:

1. As we come to the end of our series in 1 Peter, help us to seek strength when facing opposition. Your Word assures us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Lord, help us rely on Your strength to face these challenges, trusting in Your love and grace.

2. Heavenly Father we thank You that as a church we can partner with different organisations throughout the world. We pray for those entrusted with resources for Gospel work. May they be faithful stewards, content in all circumstances, and wise in their financial decisions. Help them to manage resources with integrity, ensuring that every provision is used to advance Your Kingdom

3. Please protect our brothers and sisters around the world who are being persecuted for their faith, especially those who are active in sharing the gospel. Let your peace reign on those regions where your children are not permitted the freedom to live out their faith in safety. And watch over and encourage those who work to support oppressed believers on the ground, risking their own lives to do so.
