The New Series continues

This Sunday we continue our series thinking about the theme of generosity as Mike Robins, from Compassion UK, joins us to think about the perspective shift that the gospel brings. The charity’s founder was prompted by his Christian faith to respond to what he witnessed on a war-torn Korean street in 1952. He had arrived to preach the gospel to American troops but the generous nature of God inspired him to look beyond the needs of simply the American troops. Mike’s work with the charity helps support work in 29 countries partnering with 8,500 local churches.

Children’s groups will continue and refreshments will be served before and after the service, so do join us if you can.

Small groups return

Small groups return this week as we start a new term in ENABLE, exploring the wonderful ‘means’ that God has given us as disciples to help us serve Him with the whole of our lives.

Last term, we were exploring the great enabler that is ‘one another’ - God has placed us in our church that we might support and encourage one another in living for Him. More than that, we also thought about the enabler of prayer. God provides all we need to live for Him as we ask Him in prayer.

This term, we are turning to think about another provision of God which is given to His disciples - the gift of the Holy Spirit.

This week we are going to think about the initial work of the Holy Spirit. He is the one who enables us to become disciples in the first place. He is the one who gives us new life.

New Breakfast Programme - 2024

Not long now until the new Women’s breakfast series begins for 2024. Starting the first Saturday in February, each session we are going to think about God and how knowing him as he really is changes the way we think about ourselves and our lives. These breakfasts are for any women across all the Trinity Churches.

There is also a book to accompany the series called ‘None Like Him’ which is available to buy.  If you wish to purchase one you can add it to your ticket and pick up at the breakfast. Click on the link below to sign up for the 3rd February 8.30-10am.

Music Ministry Evening - 6th February

We are really excited that Andy Fenton from Music Ministry is travelling down in February to run a workshop for musicians and singers. This will be held at St Kea Church and is open to both those who already serve in leading our sung worship and those considering getting involved.

Andy is a very experienced church musician and is involved in teaching and practical training across the UK. Please bring along your instruments, as part of the evening will be a practical session.

Intern Accommodation needed

We are really excited about how our Trinity youth ministry is growing, drawing young people from across our churches in Truro and reaching young people with no link to a church. To support this growing work we are pleased that there is someone looking at travelling down from Oxford to join our team as an intern in the 24/25 academic year. In the past people have very kindly hosted interns and we are wondering if there might be someone willing to do so again.

We won't be in a position to pay a 'going rent' but any costs incurred can be covered. It would be a huge blessing both to us and to him, and we pray that it will help us minister to young people even better. If you have any further questions, or would like to discuss the possibility, then please contact Hugh.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Generous and loving God, we offer you thanks and praise as we recognise that all we receive comes from you. Help us to be generous with our time serving you, so we can be transformed to be more like you.

2. This week please pray for the wonderful work of Mercy Rescue Trust. Thank you for the provision to repair the house where the foster parents live making it safe for them. Thank you also for the secondary school children who have done well in their exams and how Mercy continues to support them in the next step of their journey. Please pray for Dennis who remains in hospital and give Jedidah and her team the wisdom of how to best care for him when he comes out.

3. Father God we pray for the congregation at Kea Church and Hugh Barne as he leads them. We pray for the 2 adults who were baptised there last week as they start their walk with you. We ask that they feel spiritually supported by the church family around them.
