This Sunday - Global Blessing

This Sunday we are back in the book of Acts continuing our current series. After the awesome events of Pentecost, the apostles’ message in the power of the Spirit starts to spread. This week, the apostle Peter speaks of Jesus and calls on his hearers to repent and receive God’s blessing. As we gather, let’s pray that each one of us will receive that blessing again.

“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” Acts 3:19

Refreshments are served both before and after the service and prayer is always available after the service; do ask other church members or speak to the service leader. Our groups for children and young people are back up and running this week.

Equip This Week - Gospel Action

We have been considering our response to EQUIP over the last three weeks. We have thought about: the freedom the Gospel brings; the focus it gives our lives and, this week, we have been thinking about the actions it calls us to.

Next week was due to be a prayer meeting week, but (as you will see below) that has been postponed. Your groups might want to meet to encourage each other, continue reflecting on EQUIP and to pray for each other. The next ‘formal’ session for EQUIP, our last in Colossians, will be the week beginning Sunday 2nd July.

Do also make sure that our special evening on the 20th July is in your diary - our time of commitment and praise. We will be gathering at St Kea Church for a BBQ at 5:30pm. At 6:30pm we will join together in a time of praise and thanksgiving led by a wonderful band from both congregations. As part of that time, we will each have the opportunity to share how we want to offer our lives in the service of God. There will be informal provision for the children.

These final steps in the journey of discovery could be exciting ones for each of us. To find out more about joining EQUIP groups, please get in touch with Debs in the office at debras@trinitytruro.org.uk

SPREE - This Weekend

This weekend we are super excited to be taking a group of 20 young people, from 3 of our congregations, to Spree (including young people from our Christ Church congregation). This is a Christian festival for youth groups, taking place at Westpoint Arena in Exeter, with the theme for this year exploring the question - What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus?

Please be praying for our young people that they continue to grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus and are confident in wanting to give their lives to follow Him. Please also pray that we continue to grow in fellowship as a group.

Sierra Leone

Click below to find out what our Gospel Partners Richard and Riekje Wallace have been doing in Sierra Leone, as well updates on events closer to home.

Please see at the end of their newsletter ways in which we can be praying for them in the work they are doing.

The Trinity evening due to be held at St John’s Church on the 28th June has been postponed.

Youth Slip and Slide - 9th July

Many of you will have seen the advertising for the Slip and Slide on the Killiow Estate which opens in July. They tell us it will be 110m long! We are co-ordinating a trip on Sunday 9th July, but booking is direct with the company. Please note that this is a time slot open to the public and also that all children (of any age) need to be accompanied by an adult. The plan is to have a bring and share lunch for those staying.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. This week we pray for all the youth who will be attending SPREE this weekend. We pray that their faith will grow and they will return excited to learn more about our creator God. We also thank God for all the leaders who have given up their time to support the youth at this weekend and pray that they too will receive many blessings from the event.

2. We thank God for all the people at Christ Church who are thinking about being baptised, or affirming their baptismal vows, on the 23th July. This promises to be a special Sunday, hosted by Tim and Debs Stanhope. An open-air service followed by a church family BBQ. Thank God for this wonderful opportunity for them to declare their faith in Christ.

3. We praise God for the Wallace Family and their amazing visit and times of training in Sierra Leone. Please pray that the Divine Expedition Training will further the outreach, church-planting and discipling that Pastor Philip and his team are doing in Tonka Limba region.
