This Sunday - Wisdom Personified

After seven Sundays in the book of Proverbs, this week we come to the conclusion of the book where we see Wisdom personified. This will help us to tie together many of the themes of the book and also to see the beauty of God’s wisdom. Do join us as we conclude our series.

Our children’s groups continue this week, but remember next Sunday is Mothering Sunday and we will be gathering for our all-age service. Mothering Sunday is a great time when we can invite friends or family to join us as we celebrate God’s love for us all.

Refreshments are served both before and after the service and prayer is always available after the service, do ask other church members or speak to the service leader. Christ Church Truro meets at 9:30am in Archbishop Benson School TR1 1BN. Free parking available.

This Week - EQUIP Continues

EQUIP continues this week as we think about how the church is built. We have been thinking about how we all have a role to play. This week, we are thinking about what that looks like in practice as we consider those outside the church.

Next week is the final week in this prat of EQUIP and we will be concluding our thinking about what makes and builds the church. If you are not part of an EQUIP group but would like to join, do contact Marc (our church leader). All the EQUIP material is available from the link below.

Trinity Evening

Later this month we are hosting our next Trinity fellowship, information and prayer evening. This is a chance to meet with other members of our Trinity family over simple refreshments. It is also a chance for the whole church to find out how the developments are progressing and to ask questions. We will be holding a short service of reflection and prayer towards the end of the evening.

The event is being hosted at Kenwyn Parish Church on 22nd March. 7pm for refreshments. Do make a note in your diaries now and come and join us.

Giving ‘In Focus’

We have been thinking recently about giving and, as we have looked at the book of Proverbs, we have considered being wise with our money:

• Riches are a blessing from the LORD, we should be thankful for them.

• Riches do not last, don’t put your trust in them.

• Riches are not the most important thing, don’t overvalue them.

• Riches are given to be given, don’t hold tight to them.

If you were able to join us you will have heard about all the things that our church has been able to do over the last year, including helping many, many people locally and across the world. You would have also heard that at the moment our church is not sustainable. We asked everyone who is a regular member of Christ Church to give towards our work and we asked existing members if they might consider increasing their regular giving by 10%.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Give thanks for our EQUIP series where we have been thinking about the nature of the church. Pray that we would all be part of a speaking revolution - speaking the gospel to one another, that the church might be built up and grow. Pray especially for our culture as a Church family.

2. Give thanks for Andy Bourne being sent to Kenwyn Parish Church to support the growth in gospel ministry there. Pray for their work amongst children and families and their outreach to the local community.

3. Pray for the Barnabus Fund who support persecuted Christians worldwide. They are preparing to offer relief in the expected drought in the Horn of Africa.
