This Week - Content To Give

Many of us feel uncomfortable talking about money and lots of us feel uneasy about money in various ways. As we go through our lives we are likely to go through different seasons of financial comfort and discomfort. The Bible has lots to say about money, both as a blessing and a danger. This Sunday we will unpack some of this as we continue thinking about generosity. 

In the service there will also be Holy communion and children groups will continue. Refreshments will be served before and after so do join us if you can.

As we continue reflecting on last Sunday’s sermon, and look ahead to the next, then this testimony (6mins) might be useful thing to watch or to have playing in the background in a suitable moment:

Prayer Evening - This Thursday

This week we will be meeting on Thursday at 7.30pm to prayer for the work of our church. At Christ Church we believe prayer underpins everything we do so do join us for a wonderful evening. Small groups will continue again next week.

Truro Diocese Evangelical Fellowship

Twice a year Christians with evangelical convictions, from churches across the Diocese, are invited to gather and sing praise to God, pray for the the Diocese and be encouraged by a visting speaker. In March the Rt Rev’d Dr Jill Duff, the Bishop of Lancaster, will be the speaker. CEEC was first created by John Stott in 1960 to provide a “collective” evangelical voice within the Church of England and Diocesan Evangelical Fellowships (DEF’s) are a local expression of this. Since the TDEF was re-booted last February (with support from Bishop Philip) the two meetings have been encouraging and uplifting, with good numbers and representation from a considerable number of churches across the Diocese.

Lent Course - St John’s Church

St John’s Church in Truro will be running a Lent course during February and March. If you are not part of small group or doing the Enable course and have time during the day this might be for you.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Thank you God for demonstrating your love and generosity towards us. Help us to dwell on what a gospel shaped life looks like for us and how we can be generous with our money, time and skills.

2. This week we prayer for the work of the Barnabus Fund who gives hope and aid to suffering Christians around the world. We particularly pray for those caught in conflicts around the world, especially Christians who already endure persecution because they believe in You. Please protect Your Church in countries where enemies attack and besiege them even outside of war.

3. Thank you for the congregation of St Allen Church. We pray for the ministers who lead there and bless their ministry that they would be led by Your holy spirit.
