New Series - Revisiting Ephesians: Made New In Christ 

Our God is all about transformation, turning situations around, bringing life and light and hope. Personal transformation. Church transformation. Community transformation. This is the mission of God in the world as he calls people to himself and transforms us to be more like Jesus. 

This Sunday we reconvene our exploration of Ephesians, returning with fresh eyes to the profound messages of transformation. We’ve taken a pause, but now it’s time to dive back into the depths of this powerful epistle. The first half of Ephesians taught us much about what God has done for us. The incredible truth that we are chosen and loved by God (Eph 1:4-5)1. We’ve learned that salvation is a gift of grace, not earned by works (Eph 2:8-9)1. This truth has created a new united people as one body in Christ (Eph 2:14). 

Now, as we pick up from where we left off, our series turns to apply those lessons to our every day lives. We are going to be encouraged to cast aside our old selves and embrace a new life as imitators of God, living like Jesus. This Sunday, let’s gather to reflect on the transformative power of God that we might grow in kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. So join us over these next few weeks as together we learn how to walk in love. 

“Therefore… walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:2 

Refreshments will be served before and after the service and children’s groups will run as usual - We’d love to see you there.

Small Groups

Small groups are pausing this week for half term, but will start again next week when we will be looking at the next of the enablers ‘The Sabbath’.

BBQ & Swim

Straight after the service on Sunday 9th June we will be heading over to Debs and Tim Stanhope’s home for a family swim and BBQ.

Bring your swimming costumes/towels, picnic blanket, camping chairs, drinks and meat to cook on the BBQ. We will provide plates, salads, bread rolls and ice lollies!

Trinity Evening - 19th June - St John’s Church

Once a term we meet together for an evening of updates from each congregation, stories of encouragement and hymns and prayers. This term we will be meeting at St John’s Church in Truro from 7pm for refreshments, with our evening formally starting at 7.30pm. It is a wonderful evening to come together as Trinity Church - we look forward to seeing you all then.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. As we come to our new series this week we pray that you would help us to see the areas of our lives that need to be transformed and help us walk in love with you in everything we do.

2. We give thanks for the mission work of the Wallace family. Praise God for the excellent time of training Richard had in Ethiopia, seeing the trainers develop in their skills and confidence. Please pray for this work as they continue to empower and multiply leaders there. We also pray for Datchet Church to grow deeper in their love for Christ and for one another, wider in their connections with the surrounding community, and for “the Lord to add to our numbers”.

3. Andy Boorne from Kenwyn Church writes ‘Thank God for the Kenwyn congregation, they really are a super community, and I think God is opening our eyes to more of who he is. We pray that God will move through everything we do to touch people with his love. More specifically, for the people coming to ABC (toddler's) group, the younger Tea Time messy church and older primary school groups and with all the connections into the surrounding communities in both Kenwyn and Rosedale. We ask that God will use the funerals/baptisms and weddings to show himself to people, whether they will return to Kenwyn, or another church God leads them to. We ask you to pray that Jesus will help us to see him better, teach us obedience, and fill us with His love through the power of His Holy Spirit. God bless and thank you.’
