This Sunday - Wisdom for Living

In our modern world everyone seems to be searching for 'the blessed life’ and our modern world offers us all manner of ways to receive ‘the blessed life’. Our podcast feeds and bestseller book lists are full of suggestions. Yet so often, people find these sources of blessing don’t deliver and fail to ultimately satisfy.

Of course, we know the heart of our God is to bless His people generously. So, this Sunday, we are going to be exploring how we can live lives that know God’s blessing every day - and it all comes from choosing wisdom. Join us this Sunday as our new series continues.

This week, our new Sunday Club series also continues as our children think about Jesus the King and His Kingdom. This Sunday, they are going to be thinking about how the King has power over even the natural world around us. He really is an amazing king. There is also a crèche available for younger church members.

There will be refreshments both before and after the service, so do catch up with friends old and new. Prayer is always available after the service, do ask other church members or speak to the service leader. People are always available who would love to pray with you.

Tonight 7:30pm - EQUIP Central

Join us tonight at EQUIP Central, as EQUIP comes together to launch the new term. Thursday 26th January at 7:30pm. This evening is hosted at Starbucks in Truro. This meeting is for everyone in the church family, even if you have not been involved in EQUIP so far. Free parking is available in the city centre council car parks.

During this evening, Marc (our leader at Christ Church) will be recasting the over-all vision for EQUIP. He will also be drawing together some of the strands from the first two EQUIP series and trying to help us see the main lessons. There will be time for personal reflection and a chance for us each to identify the main things that God has been teaching. There will also be time for asking questions and talking together; the evening will end as we launch section three of EQUIP - What is the church?

It is going to be a wonderful evening - come expecting God to be at work amongst us.

Next Saturday - Women’s Breakfast

We are so looking forward to our first Women’s Breakfast of 2023 on Saturday 4th February, 8:30am-10am. Do join us as we meet with our sisters from across Trinity Churches. As well as a great breakfast and time to chat together, we will also thinking about women in the past who followed Jesus. It is going to be a wonderful time together and a great way to start the weekend.

Bishops’ Announcement

No doubt many of you will have seen news reports of the most recent College of Bishops meeting, where proposals were being finalised for presentation at the Church of England General Synod at the start of February. New Administrator - Closing Monday 30th January

In order to spend more time with her family, Sue Sharp has decided to step down from her role as Church Administrator in our church office. This means we are looking for someone to come and join our team.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Please pray for all those in our congregations who are suffering from illness at the moment. Whether temporary or long-term, pray that they would take comfort in a God who loves them and is in control.

2. Give thanks for the work that has started at St John’s and for the positive welcome Will has received. Pray that, through the work Will is doing, the Gospel will be clearly heard.

3. Please pray for the Barnabas Fund as they continue to provide hope and aid to suffering Christians around the world.
