Armour Of God

This Sunday, some of our congregation members will be at our church Camping Trip at Tehidy Country Park and it is here we will hold our Sunday morning gathering at 10am. (There will not be a service at Archbishop Benson School) We will be reflecting on the final section of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians as we explore what it means to put on the armour of God. 

Armour evokes the need for defense against a deadly attack. We think of medieval knights clad in metal suits that we only see displayed in museums or modern soldiers in armored tanks and bulletproof vests. It may seem aggressive and militaristic. Why do we need armour? Is there truly great danger? Are we under any threat? Cornwall, especially this time of year, appears idyllic with its (occasional) sunshine and open waters—not a war zone! Why the dramatic imagery? 

This Sunday, we’ll delve into the reality of the threat. We’ll discover that the struggle we face isn’t merely human; it’s against spiritual forces and a scheming devil. However, we’ll also see that God has fully equipped us to stand firm. 

How does this play out in our everyday lives? How can we practically put on the armour? This week, let’s listen to the God of heaven and earth as He equips us and let’s pray for one another, asking that God’s Word would be at work. 

There will be refreshments for anyone coming in the morning both before and after the service, so do arrive any time before 10am. Please bring something to sit on e.g picnic blanket or chair.

In Conclusion

This week is the last week of ENABLE as we head to our summer break. This session is designed to be more informal, a chance to look back on the different themes from the year and to draw some of the strands together. In your small groups you might like to enjoy some food together or have a summer BBQ.

For some of us this series has taken us on a journey that has lasted over two years. In year one ‘EQUIP’ we thought about the amazing, daring, demanding and exhilarating things that God is asking us to do, serving him completely with the whole of our lives. If at the end of the first year we were daunted by the task ahead, then year two ‘ENABLE’ has helped us to consider the different ways in which God has equipped us to complete his mission: the wonderful gifts of the Holy Spirit; God’s word; prayer and one another (the church). We have been reminded over the last few weeks to worry less about how others view us, to worry less about visible results, but instead to serve knowing that his grace is on us and lasting fruit is guaranteed.

So this week we will reflect on three questions discussing our focus, hopes or desires in living for Christ? Ways God has encouraged us to see how his wonderful equipping is enabling us to undertake this life lived for him. And finally what ways has God’s wonderful equipping challenged us to go further or to develop or changed how we are living for him?

Camping - This Weekend!

The Trinity Camping Weekend is finally here! The weather is looking good and all the plans are in place. Below sets out all the information needed for campers/day visitors coming along.

If you are camping arrive any time from 4.30pm on Friday - please click on the ‘Camping Booklet’ for information on how to find the camp. There will be a Trinity Camping sign at the entrance to the field so do look out for this.

If you are planning to come for the day please park along the road in the field leading into the camp (there will be signs where you can park). If you are joining us for the afternoon on the beach we will be meeting at Portreath Beach at 2pm.

Don’t forget that on Sunday 14th July there wont be a service at Archbishop Benson School and instead we will be meeting at the camp for an outside service at 10am. Please bring along something to sit on and we will provide refreshments for anyone coming for the day.

We can’t wait to see you there - it’s going to be wonderful weekend.

CC Prayer Evening - Thursday 18th July

Next week we will be meeting to pray for the life of our church before we break for the Summer holidays. Please join us from 7.30pm at Alan and Jean Stanhope’s home where refreshments will be served. We’d love to see you there.

One Church - Saturday 7th September

Don’t forget to sign up for our ‘One Church’ event happening on Saturday 7th September where we will be coming together with all of the Trinity Churches for a day of teaching, fellowship and fun. The theme for the day will focus on God’s great plan to unite us together in Jesus.

The day will begin at Kea Church at 10am where we will have a time of praise and worship. This will then be followed by two sessions in the main church building led by our guest speaker for the day Rupert Shelley. After many years in ordained youth ministry, Rupert now works for the global Anglican mission organisation BCMS Crosslinks. He will be travelling down to join us from Newbury, where he serves in a multi-parish benefice. Rupert will be helping us to think about 'where all history is heading' as we look at the overarching story of the Bible

Whilst this these sessions are happening there will be activities for children of all ages from 0-16 in the church hall.

After the morning talks and activities have finished we will all head over to the Vicarage at 1pm for an afternoon garden party. There will be food, music, games and most importantly ice-cream!

It is going to be a great event to come together as ‘One Church’ so do sign up using the button below. There is a voluntary contribution forwards the food (which will be a BBQ and Salad). All you need to bring on the day is something to sit on, your plate and some cutlery.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join in praying for:

1. Let us pray for all our children and youth as they come to the end of another year at school. We pray for fun, refreshment and a close walk with Jesus throughout the holidays, and for them as they prepare for the next step of their education, whether this is moving year groups, schools or going to university/work. Please pray too for those going on summer camps or ventures to have a wonderful holiday and get to know Jesus better.

2. This week we pray for our gospel partners The Wallaces. (See newsletter link above for more prayer points). Richard would like us to praise God for 223 years of faithful ministry at Datchet Baptist Church. Please pray as they move into the future they will be a growing a church that continues the long legacy of making disciples, developing leaders and blessing the community.

3. Father God, we thank You for the gift of being ‘One Church’ and we pray now for all the church family who will be attending the Camping Weekend this weekend. We pray that this time together will grow relationships and builds up your church.
