In Christ - Live Worthy

Over the next few weeks we are returning to our main autumn series “In Christ” and things now start to get practical. We have already seen what Jesus has done for us individually, as a church and even across the cosmos. We are praying that we would have the power to grasp these things very deeply - and when we do, it can’t help but result in our lives being transformed.

This week we are being encouraged to live lives that are worthy of all that Jesus has done for us - a beautiful calling. Humility, gentleness and patience for one another is just the start. Join us as we explore what it looks like to live as one united people in Jesus’ church.

Children’s groups continue and refreshments will be served before and after the service. Livestream goes live from 10.20am.

TONIGHT - Fellowship Evening

In Enable we have been thinking about the gift of one another as God’s people and this week’s Enable small group activity is to share fellowship, praise God, hear ministry updates and pray together. Come to Kea Church at 7pm to spend time with others, with food and refreshments and the evening will start at 7.30pm.

Youth Weekend Away

We are so thankful to God for a very memorable and enjoyable Youth Weekend Away on Dartmoor. 18 young people and 8 leaders travelled to Heatree Activity Centre and spent the weekend enjoying the sunshine, having fun and hearing from the Bible. Our guest speaker helped us all to think about 'Living in light of eternity' as we dipped into various parts of 1 Corinthians. Some highlights were racing down the slope on grass sledges, taking on the high ropes, dressing up for the futuristic themed dinner, our walk up Hound Tor and taking time in groups to chat and pray about what we had been hearing from God's word. Thank you to all who helped to make the weekend possible and to everyone who prayed for us. Please pray on for fruit in the lives of those who came.

Dockyard Lounge -

The Dockyard Community Cafe launched in Hendra on Monday and it had a really encouraging start. They had around 20 adults, 10 children and a puppy joining them. They also had volunteers joining them from 5 local churches and the community. It was a lovely time of fellowship and fun, with those coming along very grateful for the provision. Thank you for all your support and donations so far. Dockyard are looking for a driver on Mondays to help them move various items for the swap shop. If you are interested then please contact Erica.

Living in Love and Faith

A reminder that members from St Kea or Christ Church are invited to an informal meeting at St Kea - Wednesday 25th, 7:30-9:00pm which will give a chance for people to hear where the LLF process has got to and to ask questions and pray.

As that meeting is during half-term we know that some people might not be able to attend. If that is your situation, and you would like us to organise an additional meeting at another time so you can attend, do contact either Marc or Hugh. Also, if you wish to discuss any of this individually with either Marc or Hugh, or seek their support, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Apologies that the link in last week’s email, to the letters sent earlier in the year, was corrupted. Please find these again below:

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Please pray for the people of Israel and Gaza, that God will reveal His comfort and bring peace to this troubled region.

2. Please also pray for the work of Tearfund and all they do to support communities who are torn apart by conflict, violence and poverty. In particular they ask us to pray for the children who grow up in these conditions and have limited access to education, nutrition and healthcare.

3. Please thank God for the congregation of St John’s Church. Please pray for their new home groups which will be starting after half term - a chance for them to get together around God’s word and be encouraged. They also ask us to pray for the plans for Remembrance and the involvement of uniformed organisations which is happening for the first time, in a long time, this year.
