This Sunday - joint Pentecost Service

We are excited to join together with Christ Church congregation for our All Age Pentecost service. We shall be looking at the beginning of Acts 2 together, as we hear about Our New Day from Marc and Hugh.

Please do join us to welcome our fellow congregation this Sunday.

Refreshments will be served both before and after the service and a livestream will be broadcast.

Trinity coming together

As we are getting closer to becoming one church as Trinity church, we would love to keep in touch with all the congregations across Trinity about the work they are doing, how we can pray for each other and share news with you about the process.

This week we are focusing on the work at St John’s Church. Life at St John’s church has been busy with their recent new church wardens Sarah Peters and Andrew Cowley being appointed. Please pray for them as they start this journey with St John’s and Rev Will Harwood. They have had another successful Messy Church session last Sunday, and are starting their prayer course this Thursday evening at 7pm (which is open to all of Trinity). Please pray for our fellow congregation as they continue to grow.

The Trinity implementation group meet last week to continue working on the combining of our churches. Please pray for them as they work tirelessly on this task ahead.

Please do save the date for our Celebration Sunday for Trinity Church, being held on Sunday 3rd September in Truro from 1pm. Do join us for an afternoon of food, activities and fun for all of the family. More details on what’s in store and how to book to follow.

Youth Update

It is hugely exciting to have many young people engaged with various church activities across Trinity. In the past few months we have seen encouraging growth in many areas and new opportunities are presenting themselves. We are so thankful to the many volunteers who make our existing groups and activities possible. As our work with young people across Trinity grows, so does our need for volunteers so we wanted to highlight some of the areas where we have a particular need for volunteers:

• Weekly Sunday Youth during the St Kea service (school years 7 - 9)

• Weekly Tuesday Night Youth (school years 6 - 10)

We also have an amazing opportunity to be delivering regular youth & children's work on the Trelander estate in Truro that will allow us to build positive relationships with children, young people and families. In order to make the most of these opportunities, we need a team of volunteers that will enable us to deliver a variety of activities:

• Trelander Weekly Youth Club (in partnership with LICF Dockyard)

• Tregolls August Holiday Club (in partnership with LICF Dockyard)

• Weekly afterschool club at Tregolls School (in partnership with LICF Dockyard)
  

If you are interested in supporting with any of these opportunities or would like to know more about any of them, then please do get in touch with Hugh or Sam. All volunteers will receive support and training and will need to go through the safer recruitment process.

Thanksgiving Service - Ruth Parnell

On Thursday 1st June at 2pm there will be a thanksgiving service to celebrate the life of Ruth Parnell who went to be with the Lord on the 7th May. Rev’d Hugh Barne will be taking the service. All church family are welcome to attend and donations will be for St Kea Church.

Bold I approach - Starting this Thursday

Join us at St John’s Truro for a 4-week course on prayer, where we explore how prayer works, why it matters and some practical tips. We will be working through a bible study handbook, spending time together in groups and seeking to grow in our own prayer lives. We will be meeting Thursdays 7-8pm (25 May-15 June) with refreshments. This is a Trinity-wide event and all are welcome.

The whole story

A member of St Kea, Iain Brunt, is hosting an event at Old Kea on the evening of 1st June to listen to the whole of Acts in one go, to get the big picture of the book. It will be an exciting ride! Please do get in touch below if you’d like to join (and please forgive the misnaming of the book in the image above!) We’ll start at 7pm and finish before 10pm. Food and refreshments provided.

Kea Summer Fete

Kea Summer Fete is on Saturday 17th June 12-3pm at Kea School and as always Kea Church will be running the cake and refreshments stall as well as the toy/book stall.

We would really love some volunteers to help with refreshments on the day. No special skills are required, just a willingness to chat and be friendly! If this is something you can do please get in touch with Sian Goddard (details on Church Suite)

We also need some cakes and traybakes for the stall, so if you or someone you know loves baking and could provide us with some delicious bakes please can you drop them off in the church hall from Friday 16th June or bring them on the day.

There will also be a plant, book and toy stall at the event so if you have any good quality items/plants that you could donate for this stall please drop them off at the Church Hall leading up to the event.

The fete is a wonderful opportunity to be part of the local community and to engage with the school parents. Some of the money raised at the event is donated towards our mission partners so please do come along and support this fantastic event.

Baptism Sunday

On the 9th July, in our Sunday morning service, we hope to have both some Baptisms and affirmation of Baptismal vows. If you haven’t yet been baptised, or would like to publicly affirm the vows that were made on your behalf as an infant then please consider getting in touch to chat further. This is an opportunity for people of all ages.

Weekly Prayer Points

1. This week we pray for our ministry and staff team as they have a team day to be refreshed by the Gospel and for all the young people currently preparing for and taking assesments and exams.

2. We also give thanks for St Johns Church, and pray for them and their congregation for them to continue to grow.

3. Please continue to pray for the work of Truro Foodbank, for all of those who serve them and those in need.
