St Kea Church

This Sunday

Our series in the book of Acts continues this Sunday. The apostles have been empowered with the gift of the Spirit to witness to the resurrection across the world and this week, for the first time in Acts, we hear the content of their message. This message is the foundation of our faith and transforms how we see both ourselves and our world. Join us this week as we explore the implications of this message. It is message of global significance and just as relevant today as it was 2000 years ago.

Our groups for children and young people meet again. Refreshments will be served both before and after the service and a livestream will be broadcast.

The whole story

A member of St Kea, Iain Brunt, is hosting an event at Old Kea tomorrow evening to listen to the whole of Acts in one go, to get the big picture of the book. It will be an exciting ride! Still time left to get in touch below if you’d like to join. We’ll start at 7pm and finish before 10pm. Food and refreshments provided.

 JOIN THE ADVENTURE

Small groups

Small groups offer a wonderful opportunity to get to know one another better and to spend time studying together. We have a number of small groups at St Kea (All Hallows) who meet on different days and evenings.

We would like to invite anyone not in a group to consider joining one. Sian Goddard is the Small Group Coordinator and would be happy to talk with anyone wishing to enquire about joining a group. Please do chat with her on Sunday or drop her an email to ask about available groups - siang@stkea.org.uk

Trinity coming together

As we are getting closer to becoming one church as Trinity, we would love to keep in touch with all the congregations across Trinity and the ministry we are engaged in together. We hope we can continue to pray for one another and share news of the Lord’s work amongst us.

This week we are focusing on the work at Kenwyn Church, with their Ordinand Andy Boorne.

A little news from Trinity Kenwyn – It’s been a privilege watching team Kenwyn in action this last week, welcoming people, worshipping together, chatting at the end of meetings, arranging a plant swap last weekend (which attracted folk new and old, from all over the place), setting up and running a family games evening, (which didn’t quite attract the people we expected but was a good evening), ABC toddlers group, Stitchers&Knitters, Wednesday Fellowship, the choir’s Choral Evensong was great, and the bell ringers always seem to ap‘peal’ (sorry if puns don’t quite chime with you) to new people. And is it all making Jesus better known to us and others? We ask you to join us in praying that that is the case, for His name’s sake. God bless from Kenwyn!

We are looking forward to our upcoming fellowship evening together, being held at St John’s church on Wednesday 28th June. Please do arrive from 7pm for refreshments, and we shall be starting together at 7.30pm.

Please do also save the date for our Celebration Sunday for Trinity Church, being held on Sunday 3rd September from 1pm. This will be an afternoon when we can gather together from all our congregations for food, activities and fun for all of the family. More details on what’s in store and how to book to follow.

Churches count on nature

We are taking part in Churches count on nature which is part of Love your burial ground week (3rd-10th June) and run by Caring for God's acre, A Rocha and some other groups and it would be great to count the different plants and wildlife we see. Please come and join us in our lovely churchyards.

‘Stakeholder’ meeting

In June and July there will be two opportunities for anyone passionate about reaching and discipling young people with our ministry across Truro to gather. We will give a bit of an update of where things are with the various youth activities, invite input from people and sketch out where things seem to be heading as we seek to work together across Trinity Churches before praying together. The first of these is planned as a breakfast meeting, from 8-9.30am, on Saturday 10th June. Anyone who would like to join can sign up below, this is helpful for catering purposes.

Breakfast - Sunday 18th June

Please join us before the service on Sunday 18th June at 10am where there will be a continental breakfast served. This will be a great opportunity to fellowship together, as well as enjoy a delicious breakfast.

Kea Summer Fete

Kea Summer Fete is on Saturday 17th June 12-3pm at Kea School and as always Kea Church will be running the cake and refreshments stall as well as the toy/book stall.

We would really love some volunteers to help with refreshments on the day. No special skills are required, just a willingness to chat and be friendly! If this is something you can do please get in touch with Sian Goddard (details on Church Suite)

We also need some cakes and traybakes for the stall, so if you or someone you know loves baking and could provide us with some delicious bakes please can you drop them off in the church hall from Friday 16th June or bring them on the day.

There will also be a plant, book and toy stall at the event so if you have any good quality items/plants that you could donate for this stall please drop them off at the Church Hall leading up to the event. If you are very kindly planning to contribute plants then please do let us know asap.

The fete is a wonderful opportunity to be part of the local community and to engage with the school parents. Some of the money raised at the event is donated towards our mission partners so please do come along and support this fantastic event.

Baptism Sunday

On the 9th July, in our Sunday morning service, we hope to have both some Baptisms and affirmation of Baptismal vows. If you haven’t yet been baptised, or would like to publicly affirm the vows that were made on your behalf as an infant then please consider getting in touch to chat further. This is an opportunity for people of all ages. It would be useful to know by June 18th if you are considering this.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. This week we pray for rest for our church family over half term, all those who lead and serve and pray children enjoy the week.

2. We give thanks for Kenwyn Church and all of the activities mentioned above, seeking to make Jesus better known among their church famly and to others. Please pray for those who continue to serve there for the sake of the gospel.

3. Please continue to pray for our Gospel partner Compassion UK, working with 2 million children trapped in extreme poverty across 25 developing countries. Compassion have recently been asking people to pray for their work in Peru as the country continues to recover from Cyclone Yaku. Please pray for the project staff and sponsors who provide encouragement for children in the Compassion program and their families.
