New Year - Looking Forward

This Sunday we conclude this short series ‘New Year in Focus’.

Last week we explored the world we live in and this week we turn to look to the future. What should shape our life together in the year ahead? What should our attitude be as we seek to worship God together?

Refreshments will be served before and after the service and children's groups will continue, so do join us.

ENABLE - This Thursday

This Thursday Enable starts again with an altogether meeting on Zoom. At this session we will introduce the third part of ENABLE where our focus will be on the person and work of the Holy Spirit. To help individuals attend this session, especially those with younger children, we are hosting the meeting online. During the evening there will be time for small groups to ‘break out’ into their own groups to talk and pray together. Gardening and Working Party

Join us this Saturday where we will meeting to look after our beautiful Churchyard - No gardening experience needed. Please wear sturdy footwear and bring gardening gloves and pruning equipment if you have them. There will also be some other jobs to do in the church, such as taking out some of the staging to allow more flexibility in the space, so if you can spare a couple of hours to help with this it would be really appreciated.

St Kea Fellowship evening - 17th January

Next Wednesday instead of meeting in our small groups we will be gathering together to share fellowship over food and drink, to praise God together in song, to hear updates, give thanks to God and to commit our ministry as a church family, and that our our mission partners, to the Lord.

Even if you haven’t joined us at one of these evenings before, maybe 2024 is the time to start? Wednesday 17th January - 7.30pm - at Kea Church

Old Kea Service - 21st January

The first service of the year at Old Kea Church will be on Sunday 21st January at 3.30pm where Malcolm Henderson will be leading the service. So do join us in this beautiful church for a traditional service.

Dockyard Thanks

I wanted to say a massive thank you for your generous support hosting lunch for 45 people on Christmas Day. We had really positive feedback with many asking for it to continue each year. Thank you to those of you who welcomed people, had conversations, listened and played games. This is what makes a community! And of course, we could not have gathered without the delicious food prepared and served. The less glamorous jobs of washing up and hoovering at the end of the day are also very appreciated. There were many others who could not be there but donated gifts, food, equipment, and handmade crackers. This was truly a team effort. One lady said it was the best Christmas she had in years!

New Breakfast Programme - 2024

We are really looking forward to launching a new series of Women’s Breakfasts for 2024. Starting the first Saturday in February, each week we are going to think about God and how knowing him as he really is changes the way we think about ourselves and our lives. These meetings are for any women across all the Trinity Churches. Click on the link below to sign up for the 3rd February 8.30-10am.

Host needed for an intern

At St Kea we are keen to offer placements to those who are considering future set apart gospel ministry. We are in conversation with someone who might want to do an internship with us in the 23/24 academic year and we are keen to gauge whether or not someone might consider hosting him. It would be a great help to both us and him if this might be a possibility. Please do get in touch with Hugh if you would like more details on the anticipated arrangements/finances.

Weekly Prayer Points

Each week there will be a few things for our church life and church family that we can join together in praying for:

1. Father God as we look towards 2024 help us remember that you are the rock we can trust and navigate our lives by this year.

2. This week we pray for the work of Tearfund. Please pray as they work directly with local partners and churches and in underserved communities to tackle complex poverty. We particularly pray for Tearfund’s humanitarian response to disaster and conflicts happening all around the world and how they support the recovery process.

3. Thank you for St Clement Church and for their minister Di Willoughby. We pray for all they have planned for this year and how they will continue to support the community around them.
